I was told a couple days before patch that they would go back to making the heavy lance the most damaging one. I said it was a bad idea, that it would make other thrusting lances obsolete. Heck, that was why the tradeoff between length/dmg to lances was applied in the first place, there was never any reason not to use the heavy before that. I guess it makes sense from a "realistic" perspective that the heaviest lance would do the most dmg, but balance wise length+dmg is essential to cav, speed of the weapon not so much. Use of the horse is how you set up hits, not the weapon. Once you get used to thrusting speed timing is the important part, and being cav you get to determine when that is, usually.
