Why aren't the Great Lances 3 slots?

It only makes sense. They're nearly as long as a Long Spear, and 2.5x the weight.
You can even throw the strength requirement back down to 13, I just don't understand how these things are still only 2 slots.

because u can easily carry a poleaxe or something with u when u use a great lance. The pike is really long. U know that position ingame when u use a longspear or pike? Would be pretty hard to use a 2slot weapon on the back in addition to that.

as long as it gets a pretty big damage boost so it can actually kill people without needing 10+ riding on a +3 courser sure

As stupid as great lances are, it is a way lesser issue than what we are looking at with 0 slot bolts.  Great lances are completely useless on foot, plus back in the day jousters still carried a longsword or sword and shield while jousting.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Great Lances can only couch, and couch lancing is undoubtedly the largest source of damage you can possibly do in the game.

So.. Why does it need a buff again? I mean it can instakill virtually any archer, and almost kill a person in full armour that requires 20+ STR to use.

IDK, probably because the last time I did cav it would take 3-4 couched lances to kill about anyone and you would RARELY one hit someone in no armor

If it rarely hits someone that's down to the persons aim, not the lance.
If they can't land the couch lance then that's their problem, not the damage of it or anything.

I was level 10 with no stats and survived a couch lance.

If you're implying I need to play cav to know the damage it deals you are an idiot, if you just failed to word the sentence, then it's more understandable.
I've been hit by a lance in full plated armour and it left me at 1/4 health, my build was 24/20
And I had roughly 8 IF.

That is the damage I EXPECT from a lance. Because someone on a horse riding to you at max speed with a lance pointed at you is going to fucking hurt.
But you saying "wel i was lvl tehn an i din di from lanc" is utter crap, and even if it was, it will have been ages ago that it would have been the case, due to you having to be lvl 25 when you start a new account now (Or it's lvl 20, can't remember precisely)

I'm saying Great Lances do NOT need a buff to go along with the 3 slots thing due to the fact that they are already incredibly strong.
