Some time ago i proposed a more strict ingame language rule enforcement in suggestion corner, as a measure to reduce overall missbehavior like tk sprees and bullying rampages - the next thing i heared was, that NA admins went on an uncontrollable ban-spree in an (propably exemplary) attempt to readjust ingame language usage - naturally NA folks are way eloquent, precise and more hard hitting in their insulting culture in their mother language. This led to perception of being oppressed by admins in NA playership (possibly reinforced by some other cultural problematics which better be not mentioned here), leading to insane war against admins and consequently to resistance to any regulation attempts ...
My point is, that its not possible to effectively control language and ingame behavior through rule enforcement by admins or any other direct regulation mechanisms. It will always lead to perception of oppression (rightfully?) by players. It is simply the wrong way for dealing with the "Holiday mindsets" (thats what i call the absence of cooperative and social responsible behavior of people in internet games, as for the similarity of behavior of tourists in foreign countries).
Another question would be, IF there should be a place where people can live out these kinds of inferior complexes at all, or if MMO's are indeed the right place for it - leading to a evaluation basis for the question on how to deal with it.
