Dunno, characters were better.. characterized in 2nd ac to me and the first one maybe even more. 4th was very nice i agree but as ouija said nothing to do with assassins creed. Anyway remember 2nd ac and revelation had two of the best trailers ever.

AC 1 was set in the most interesting time period. Come to think of it, with each successive game the time period and setting gets less and less interesting.

Am I the only person who actually listened to the old guy talking in AC1? The things he said were actually kind of deep.

Was so hyped for AC when this came out, I even read a couple books about the Nizari Ismailis.

And disappointed when AC1 came out. Especially because they managed to do the things that seemed hard/impossible at the time, the smooth freerunning, the large cities, the crowds, the graphics, etc., etc, but then they failed when it came to gameplay and design decisions (like having all those "glitches" which completely ruined the immersion). It could easily have been the greatest game ever if it had meaningful gameplay.

Can't agree with Unity. It was so buggy the gameplay was bad when I played it.

I still have it on my PS4 so maybe it's worth another look.

The gameplay wasn't bugged at the end... tho I am specifically talking about combat and sneaking which got an awesome revamp. Unfortunately from what I've seen, they went back on the actual demanding combat and made it more button mashing batman-style. Same for sneaking really.
Unity has great, demanding gameplay in combat and sneaking which both got nerfed for Syndicate... such a pity, much shame.

I really don't see a difference in combat, apart from that enemies attack more often and you generally have more time to react. Also even when playing Unity 1.5 I got stuck during a parry animation or when I got shot pretty fucking often.

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/3t81ww/ac_syndicate_pc_port_report/

First half is mainly with cracked version w/o Day 1 patch.
2nd half is with Day 1 patch.

Seems there is a bit of hope actually. Although 3! Day1 patches is already telling...

Played a bit of Unity in the past few days and I must say that even inspite of all the bugs and glitches it's a better game. And would probably be the best assassin's creed game if they got the technical side right. Unity feels like a barrel of gasoline, whereas Syndicate feels like a half full matchbox. Ofcourse there's a much bigger potential for disaster with a barrel of gasoline.

So I've just installed it and all I can say is well done Ubisoft for showing PC some love and having an excellent keyboard mapping system. I use gamepad for AssCreed games but even so. Really cool way of adding it.

Ha. Especially in menus, having to mouse select everything seems like a downgrade from Unity in terms of porting.
