But America still has Facebook :(

What's happened in Turkey is pretty much what would happen in the US if dominionist wackos were as prevalent as the mostly rural alluha snackbar retards which constitute a majority of the Turkish voting public. The urban secularists are a minority. It's an obvious difference but I feel it should be pointed out in the face of your usual moronic false equivalency.

They are indeed serious. Banning a website used to take a long damn while. It would require a proposal, a supervisory committee discussion, a decision being made and approved. I mean it was difficult. After a recent legislative change, they can do it just like pressing buttons. All in an instant.

It is unbelievable. Before you can even find enough time to object to an atrocity, another one just pops up. We are like opium-stricken hobos. Only instead of a stimulant drug, we are being fed with atrocities.

Orbán is actually thinking of your country as the prime example to move towards, so I might be seeing what will happen here in a good 5-10 years or so.

It has already started.

Erdogan is doing it backwards. Warband server connection with rest of the world should be first thing he shuts down.

So America doesnt mix religion, hardcore traditionalism and politics? That's the sole extent of the comment i was disagreeing with, if you want to get on your soapbox and rant about something else be my guest but it doesnt sound like my comment has anything to do with it since it was solely limited to the idea that mixing those 3 things doesnt always result in crazy internet blockage.

By all means though, keep trying to explain how my comment is somehow in contradiction to your deeply held intellectual beliefs. Or you could just rage about it, that seems more you.

You're equivocating the political situation with islamist extremism in Turkey and Erdogan's blatant dictator behaviour to right-wing politics in the US. Because you're a stupid fuck, your first go-to pavlovian response to someone criticizing these issues is to immediately bring up the Great Satan, the source of all the world's ills. It's ok, it's not your fault. It's obviously too much to expect you to realize how completely ridiculous even bringing up the comparison is, because you're living in fucking lala land when it comes to geopolitics. But sure Heskey, the political situation in the US is totally similar. Yup, just the exact same ammounts of religion and hardcore traditionalism. Latest culture war issue in the US?  A bakery refused to cater a hypothetical gay wedding. Latest culture war issue in Turkey? The elected and in power government attempting a go-back to Ottoman theocracy for years now. Hmmm. Just as important, totally.

Why does hearing about mixing religion and hardcore traditionalism in politics immediately bring to mind the USA for you? There's dozens of countries where it is obviously much more of an issue. Every single muslim majority country, for example. It's the norm the world over, not the exception.
You think this doesn't happens every time a "foreign" country's extremely conservative culture gets criticized? Always some stupid fucking bundle of sticks going "Butbut teh USA! They're like, totally filled with retarded religious right-wingers urh-durh!". It's completely predictable and transparent. Again, you can't help it, it's just been forced into you by repetition, like a dog being taught to salivate at the sound of a bell. As for the insults, stop being a fucking ignorant cunt and I'll stop calling you one. I don't care about convincing you of anything though, given what I've seen on the forums from you you're obviously a lost cause.

I am talking about Islam? I am talking about religious conservatism and traditionalism in politics. I brought up muslim majority countries as an example, since we are talking about Turkey, but it applies just as easily to most of the entire planet, as I also pointed out. Your first reaction to someone pointing out the blatant effects of this combination in Turkey was to make a fucking non-sequitur about the US. What was the point? There was none, it was just a conditioned reflex. I feel perfectly fine calling you an ignorant cunt if the first thing these factors bring up to your mind is the US. Quite clearly you "aren't personally familiar" with reality or any country that isn't occidental. It's nice that you can admit it springs entirely from ignorance at least.

What's there left to say? We completely agree. You brought up the US because you are ignorant of the rest of the world, so ignorant in fact that the first country that came to mind when thinking about hardcore religious traditionalism in politics is the US.  You probably thought it was just a cute tongue-in-cheek comment, but it was pretty revealing. And I can't really take your assertions of moral superiority,  "calm" arguements and abstaining from insults given what you've called me on this forum before.

This is some next level shit.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-32266195

If you inform an AKP supporter with this , he/she will tell you the advert was offensive , if you inform them with a rape&murder they will claim that the girl was a whore, if you inform them with a malpractice , they will tell you that government deserves the money. That goes on and on . And all we can do is to riot in streets because oh wait, police is in the command of the government too. All the high military officers are in jail or recently got out unemployed , everyone who speaks radically on newspapers or on TV , gets unemployed the next day.
+Kratos are you talking about China,North Korea or Arabia?
-No, a fucked country called Turkey, just turn right from Europe.
