Because unless i'm missing something ranged in Warband multiplayer is exactly as strong as it was in Warband campaign, which is exactly as strong as it was in the completely singleplayer Mount & Blade campaign.It wasn't *made* strong to attract people, it simply wasn't nerfed when they made a multiplayer mode.
