dtv player limit

How about since dtv is more popular now increase the player max to 40. To compensate for server limits etc reduce bot count (but make them stronger to compensate). Also replace viscount with 98 year old grandmother in a pink dress.

How about since dtv is more popular now decrease the player max to 20. To compensate for low player numbers in real game modes (battle/siege). Also replace viscount with siiem avatar.
When west germany annexed east germany, nobody moved a finger too.

I think that what should be done is increase the rewards (xp and gold) of every other game-mode to balance the equation. Some players who never played DTV on a regular basis play DTV now just because of the reward.

If Battle, Siege and Rageball had double reward, DTV would be the "least rewarding" again (and people wouldn't play it just for the reward), but, at the same time, the grind would be smaller, which I think would be good for attracting and keeping new players.

On siege you can get x2 multi for every win. Which means that after two rounds won you are sitting on x5. On battle rounds are short and if you are playing smart, getting valor isn't that hard. Problem is leeching, because on DTV people can get rewards while doing very little, because other players work their ass for them.

Another problem is gold. People don't play other modes because gold income is scarce, while on DTV is massive. Why do people need gold? To buy loompoints of course, to loom new items. That led to loom point price increase which went from 300k to 400k in few weeks.

If Harald or someone else who can work on cRPG site, write a weekly heirloom exchange script, people would stop playing DTV like maniacs.

That's what I meant with increasing the rewards of every other game-mode. Not just the xp, but the gold as well.

Increasing rewards isn't a bad idea. I mean, at this point very few ideas could have catastrophic effects on mod population.

Just play each mode for a couple of hours and note your before/after xp. Then you just need a single factor to adjust each mode's reward and everyone will play the mode he wants to.

... what the hell is wrong with your rep-bar Leshma? Everytime I reload the page it goes from red to green to red...

Like an entirely different game?

At least whilst DTV is populated we can pretend the mod itself is populated

I just do not understand the appeal. Where is the fun in exploiting the AI of mindless bots to cluster up in a small area while spamming up swing? I am not a good player by any means, but I find a lot more fun in actually fighting people with a mind.

For most of them it's the high xp/gold earned for litle input.
The server is only full since it became the most rewarding gamemode.
I think it's good like that. this keeps the leeches out of the real PvP modes.

They should give bonuses to people based off of score on battle then. Right now there is no incentive to do well on battle except to maintain a constant x5 through valour. Maybe they should bring back gold/xp based on proximity like before (maybe make it based on if you hit the player who died near you or not), but also keep the multi system to encourage people to play even though they died early.
