WOW ... amazing movie making ! Alot of skill there ... much appreciation for the work put into that movie
Sad to see though that nowadays duelling boils down to STR/feint spamming and armor crutching ... not alot fancy moves and variety of skill involved from my view ... has anyone noticed no single chamber ?
Nevertheless, thanks GTX and Xesta for playing their mad-kid roles and having it turn into this fun thing ...
As for the outcome ... it was quite clear to me ... Xesta was never a great dueller, aswell as he excells in battle, where for GTX its exactly the other way around ...
Still a nice and fun event, good to see that the community still has the stuff it needs to make such things happen ... thanks to everyone who participated
Everyone has a unique duel style, some do risk chambers, while they are rarely worth the risk so in an important duel i would probably not do them either because more times than not they get blocked. Feint spamming isnt really something new, might aswell call them out for actually swinging. At this stage of the game everone feints, thats just part of the basic fighting.
And im surprised GTX played so sloppy, ill just put the blame on him not being used to polearms because those first duels, ugh.
Also, events like these are always great, im so sad i missed it. This is what cRPG always needed more of, but rarely got. Maybe that is also the reason i treasure these small events so. WP on both parts, whether it was gtx playing poory or xesta playing well i didnt expect him to take 3 round
The duel tournament wasn't won with fancy moves either. Chase imo is one of the most boring duelers to fight as he rarely makes mistakes and even more rarely tries anything that might get him in trouble. The community right now is just too good at blocking even the fanciest of moves that those offer too little reward for too high risk.
Chase does risk things, the thing is, you wont notice them unless you are actually fighting him because they nearly always work out in his favour. It can be rage inducing at times i tell ya.
