This community 100% deserves every bit of low population QQ, or every occasion where the tryhards whine and bitch about how people would rather play a fun casual gametype than join the 'serious' tryhard servers. You guys do it to yourselves.

You 'hate' someone for playing for fun, when they play without THing or TKing anyone or without harming your precious KD. How dare someone play a game for fun or to relax when they could be squinting at the screen trying to improve their K/D for reasons that are clearly so important. If we're handing out bans for 'not contributing' then let's screenshot every person who ignores the flag and tries to valor farm on EU2, or any person that allows their teammate to duel the last guy on EU1, or any player who doesnt rush EU1 flag the moment it spawns. 'not contributing' can mean whatever you want it to mean.

Some days we really earn that *glowing* reputation the cRPG community has earned amongst other gamers (on the rare occasions that they've actually heard of us).

You can hurt a team without TKing or THing, leeching constantly without contributing means your team has to make up for having 1 less player. Especially at the numbers the servers hit now, its important to have people atleast try, and join in the fights. Why cant people just go on eu3 and run around the borders, thats basically what they are doing on eu1 except they arent harming their team. Maybe its not fun when its not harming anyone. Duels in the end of the round are generally not delaying it much, i dont like it much though. Not contributing would be doing jack shit, fighting people is actually contributing. And going for flags isnt the only way to win.

Some people think the fun in crpg is actually playing the game, i know its weird.

he´s been like that for years now, the sudden punishment comes a bit, well, sudden.

That's because, in his entire history, he was NEVER banned twice by the same admin (except for 1 case, where bans were 1 year apart), that could remember his past offense and he never "really" hurt the playerbase horribly enough to be remembered as a terrible rule breaker. Tenne said that his next ban would be an essay almost 3 years ago, since that he had another 10 or so bans, some lasting few hours, some few days. Now that someone cared to check his history, saw his records and warnings from his previous bans, he couldn't have gotten away with it. No one is special and no one should get special treatment because he's known and generally liked.

The same way, no one is perfect and no one is genuinely bad. Sometimes a nice guy can have 20 bans for occasional "fun", sometimes a complete dick can survive 3 years before someone finally catches on to him and removes him.

No, some people have this delusion that we're all 'gamers' in some form of professional competitive sense and that anyone not pulling their weight should be dropped from the hardcore elite cRPG team. I blame the existence of esports for this delusion pc gamers have. You're absolutely right about the low population issues, the way to fix this is to start banning the players who consistently and reliably play the game every day. As always the cRPG community finds the optimum way to ensure the mod remains popular and full, servers may be dead but at least all the people playing are 'committed'.

Rant out
Not contributing to a team borks team balance. This + having to watch someone you don't care about in the slightest brocode with the enemy team at the end of every round... Get your head out of your arse and realize that this very much ruins the fun of playing this game for pretty much everyone that is outside of this "cool brocoding kids" club.

There are more of such than you know...

I didnt had any ban yet, not even a kick and im playing this game since december 2010.  :D
Propably im pretty good at playing the innocent.

The thing is even if Fuma is a troll, bro-coding etc. "leeching"(some people see leeching as running around with peasant gear) it would be ok if he would fight 1min out of the round and kill one guy.
He isnt a bad player either if he wants to he is pretty good  :)

A delusion that a game which main focus in a unique and well made combat system, with big battles and a variety of classes isnt meant to be spent on actually experiencing said combat, but its meant to be played as the complete opposite where you do everything to avoid fighting, and instead make people watch you hug and enemy for no apparent reason other than its "fun", i guess the fun is the thought of it being on other peoples expense. Otherwise i dont see why it couldnt be done on eu3, or second life for that matter. Yeah its definitely esports that makes us want to fight in a game made for fighting in, just like video games corrupt kids into commiting crimes.

Hell you could even join a teamspeak channel and hang out with eachother there, if interracting with other players is what you are after.

Lel, no. WHen he actually played, which afaik didn't happen in last 2 years, he was one of the very best players this mod had. He was The Mighty Duck.

No, some people have this delusion that we're all 'gamers' in some form of professional competitive sense and that anyone not pulling their weight should be dropped from the hardcore elite cRPG team. I=
You're absolutely right about the low population issues, the way to fix this is to start banning the players who consistently and reliably play the game every day.

That's bullshit. I'd never ban Fuma, since he became The Duck I haven't killed him even once on any server, just like I don't kill Morgana leFay, Micah or a few other players, but it's hard to argue that what Fuma did on daily basis was within the rules of the game. Mod is supposed to be played in certain way, with its main purpose being killing people, which Fuma avoided with all his strength. So no, he didn't "consistently and reliably play the game", at least not the same game as the rest of us  Still, he shouldn't be banned  :P

PS. Well, basically what Gravoth said :) I do the same, hugs, avoid fighting etc., though not to the same extent, but I do agree that at some point it starts killing the game as much as try hards moaning in the chat.

I'm sad the mascot had to fall, folks like Leonidas/Kleopatra/Raziel/Crapo are annoying but are kinda cute in their childish behavior. Shame that true originators of grief are still on the loose. If Fin/Shanks were banned 4 years ago like they should be, cRPG wouldn't turn into what is today and maybe mod population would still be healthy and growing. However, that is chadz's problem and he'll certainly reap what he sow in his new game where this kind of behavior will continue and grow and eventually will have negative impact on game popularity.

When a new player start playing cRPG there are few stages he's going through. At first, he's shocked by the fact how much better other players are than him. Most can't cope with this and they stop playing after few days. Nothing can be done about this, it is nature of the game.

Those who stay try to get better and become competitive. After some time, they can get into particularly nasty situation. Still new to the game, without contacts among regular players, they can fall in a trap. Trying to play the game the best they can, sometimes they will witness their teammates staying aside hugging while their opponents gank them, round after round. They'll even be attacked by their own teammates if they dare to attack an enemy who is "friend" of theirs. This is the point where people split into two groups. Those who stop plying and leave the mod forever and those who will try to become part of the "cool" gang that is essentially running the server.

That would be cool and dandy if people on server and among the "cool" gang were equal. But they are not, there is hierarchy. Which means this is nothing else than typical mobster mentality which is ruining the whole community. Societies that want to grow and prosper condemn this kind of behavior, same goes for game communities which have same goals.

GG admins satisfying the weird mischief makers (Leshma and Krex) who clearly had picked up their certain victim and only meant to do a dirty trick to him. And it was clear from the from beginning to end. You have a tonn of people doing exactly the same thing and yet they've pick up the only one of them, and tried to ban him constantly. And I assure you, they will not even try to ban someone else from the so-called "leechers", because their only goal was to ban Fuma and it was achieved:

folks like Leonidas/Kleopatra/Raziel/Crapo are annoying but are kinda cute in their childish behavior.
They're cute, but Fuma is not. Sounds legit
