Did we just get a free loompoint?

I stopped playing months back in 2014, and I've just come back now. I ended at gen 2 ,and now I am a level 34 gen 3 with a free loompoint. Also, could someone give me a rundown of what happened since August 2014? I checked the changelogs, but I couldn't find anything substantial, even though I see many new items in the shop.

New retirement level is 35. Basically everyone is at higher levels now and the huge gap between players is kind of closed. This also means there are more extreme pure STR or AGI chars roaming the battlefield. Horse ranged (throwers, xbowers and my old friendchers alike) is nerfed with a speed and damage penalty. my old friendchery has been further nerfed as well. A bunch of new items have been added. And I think these are the most substantial changes worth mentioning.
