Poleaxe or Elegant Poleaxe?

Poleaxe:
weight: 3.3
difficulty: 17
speed rating: 89
weapon length: 141
thrust damage: 31 pierce
swing damage: 40 cut

Elegant Poleaxe:
weight: 2
difficulty: 16
speed rating: 92
weapon length: 132
thrust damage: 26 pierce
swing damage: 39 cut

Im currently deciding whether to go for a Mighty Poleaxe or Mighty Elegant Poleaxe but have never really used either. However, it seems to me like, although the Poleaxe is cheaper, it is the superior weapon. YOu trade 3 speed for 1 swing damage, 5 pierce and 9 length! Why choose the elegant?

3 speed is a hell of a lot.
I have both. And in my oppinion the elegant is far better, people block your attacks far too easy with the "normal" poleaxe, and so on.
But I dont think there is much difference in style between those two, sometimes I cant even see which one of them I have equiped :D

Well I got the Mighty Elegant Poleaxe off the market but I could trade it with Polepoop for the standard Poleaxe but i cant really compare the two to see which I prefer. Hmmm 3 speed doesnt seem that much but there is a difference in weight too. Would that make a big difference?

Well in short you have better speed with the elegant compared to the normal poleaxe.

How ever you have 9 more reach with the poleaxe and better peirce dmg.

In my mind the poleaxe wins simply because u can adjust your speed with wpf via skills you can never get the 9 reach via skill set.

9 reach is alot and you will be able to swing just as far as the feared 2h´s

Dont forgot that the polearm animation cuts of 21 of the lenght of the weapon on the grib so allways say 132- 21 when wanting to know the reach of the polearm.

I've never played a server where people split up as much or as often as on EU1.  No wonder range is having a field day.

The 3 speed is a lot, like mentioned earlier. Also the length of the Poleaxe can cause problems in tight quarters. I think this just depends on your playstyle. If you meet a shielder with lots of agi that huggs you like crazy, the elegant is nicer both since less length=less glance, and that the speed comes in handy. However, if you stay away from very tight quarters and have enugh athletics to keep shield huggers at bay you should go for the poleaxe.

The normal Poleaxe for battles, because it has a better range, more weight (a positive factor for me) and does more damage. Last time I used a poleaxe is like a year ago, but depending on the stats, the poleaxe is the better weapon in battles.

Without no doubt, elegant poleaxe. As someone said before is FAR better than standard poleaxe. 3speed make the difference.

Elegant poleaxe is good.  Dont disregard the poleaxe to quickly, the additional damage and reach means you can easily out reach people and if you catch them out they'll go down quckly.

I guess the extra weight on the poleaxe also means you'll be stunning better, both people and weapons/shields.

Pole axe if you ask me.

get 2 equal duelers with:  pole axe vs. Elegant, and you'll see the difference FAST.
Pole axe gets first attack since it is longer, Weighs more so it suffers little weapon stun while your elegant's speed advantage is negated by stun duration during the duel.

So, factoring everything in you effectively get: Pole axe is Longer, more damaging [especially that thrust OH My GOD], around the same speed since it stuns weapons like a boss.
Fighting multiple people vs you, or using it in teamwork? Yep Pole Axe is better since it is longer. Check that box too.

yeah, good luck with your elegant. I'll be using my regular Pole axe.

Regular Poleaxe. Same reasons as marathon, length, damage, and most of all, weight to avoid stuns.
You think you're pretty smart with your dago mustache and your greasy hair.
