On the wave of the popularity of the post and generally after kickstarter, you should try to launch a self funding campaign as soon as possible.
Best example would probably be the way Path Of Exile did that.

 Or as another way of going forward try to be a bit more laid back and come out later with a bit more finished stuff. Though I think now is the time.

A LOT of people that watch that are people that know what imgur is and spend a lot of time there, like people spend time on Reddit or Facebook, and probably know how to press a button. The rest came from here and already know all about the project.

Even if they know how to press a button, they might not be interested enough to press it. And why miss out on even one person? I know of at least two people who missed it, by the way, and I didn't discuss it with that many people.

Ah, actually I did press the button and see the whole thing, but you're right, I was referring to that one, not the actual last one. I'm not a native on imgur, but the fact I couldn't see a link to anywhere made me think there must be more.

Am I really the only one who thinks a "round world" type map setting would rock for this kind of game?

on a "world map" thingy maybe .. but not as an actual map imo ... you have to remember that the earth is still pretty huge, eventhough its a small planet  :mrgreen: and making just a small ball, in order to have a "round world" would be .. well ... fantasy world ;)
