Arbalest is the most accurate one. Before the major fun patch the max was around 189 I think. Dont know exactly what it is know, but I think it is still around that value.

if you are looking to min-max pick either crossbow or heavy crossbow, arbalest is to situational to play in standard game rounds.

WPF cap on +3 arb is about 185 its not worth investing beyond that unless you are trying to negate weight penalties.
I believe heavy is about 165-175.

Heavy and arbalest are nearly identical accuracy wise. The difference is laughable.

yeh, if you´re planning to play xbow seriously, only heavy xbow or arbalest are an alternative

also, take a look at the armor weight penalty
http://forum.melee.org/beginner's-help-and-guides/what-new-max-weight-for-wpf-penalty/

I kept my armor weight (without the weapons) under 10 and was good to go with that, get a body armor around 36 and loom it if you can

also get wpf between 160 and 170, put the rest on 1h (or if you´re into it, 1 slot 2h, but I really recommend 1h as a xbower)

here is my final Arbalest build I´ve been working on, I tried a build with 10 ath, but realized that 1 more athletics doesn´t really help you and you really miss some IF and PS, which you will need when somebody comes close to you. You will be able to run away from most enemies anyways since 9ath with light armor is already quite fast
(click to show/hide)

on the other hand, if you´re going for Heavy Crossbow, make something like this
(click to show/hide)

people often say that IF is useless, but there are SO many situations ingame where you barely survive with 1 or 2 hitpoints and people will keep asking "How the hell are you not dead yet??". A pure crossbowbuild is nice, but if you also got some points on 1h, if and ps, you´re gonna have some good fun with people trying to sneak up on you :)

As a 2Her the only Xbow is Hunting Xbow. I do actually really like it though. Its very accurate in mid-close range combat.

You'll need IF as of next patch (if it ever comes) because it will affect wpf.

Nobody likes regular crossbow anymore, but it still works fine. Like Desire said, arb is situational and sometimes you won't be able to play its' strengths during rounds of battle. The heavy crossbow is really good for dedicated battle server crossbow builds, but I love the regular crossbow. Reload speed is fast enough that you can launch most or all of your bolts every round with 1 stack. 1H/buckler or qstaff or even 1H swashbuckler fits easily into your build by level 34.

You can wear reasonably heavy armor with a regular crossbow and WPF penalties don't matter that much. My guy was chinese themed and I was wearing the eastern lamellar with lamellar gloves. Armor penalty didn't mess with my accuracy enough to be noticeable. I was also durable enough/reloaded fast enough to fire and reload in much closer range than I would ever try with heavy or arb.

irl something shorted on the shuttle and laika overheated and died within a few hours of liftoff and for a brief while one could look up to the stars and see a light shooting across the sky that was actually a warm dog corpse slingshoting about the earth at thousands of miles per hour which was arguably humanity's greatest achievement so far

Spiritus, it doesn't matter what build you go with, you can double spawn and intentionally teamwound just as easily with either one.
