Defend the Village

My thoughts on improving the game-mode:

- Make gains just as frequent as in the other game modes
- Make the number of enemies and the class of enemies (archers, staffmen, maulers) spawned based on more factors than just the number of players:
          - Player class, Player level, e.t.c..
- Allow horses
- Allow ladders
- Don't plaster the whole map with player barriers

Make that when a player presses "C" (i.e. the PC sheet), this does not prevent him from spawning. That is SO annoying.

I think that experience should be gained per wave rather than minute to prevent leeching with a 5x. The amount of gain would be based on how difficult the wave is, or the average XP gain people would usually get from that wave with the current system.

I would rather see them fix bugs than add new features

how about actual villages you have to defend instead of barricading yourself into the most defensive structure and slay the zombie bots.

How bout structures with HP or NPC civilians you have to defend, and reward is based on what survives?

The spawning of bots in DTV is embarrassingly bad game design.  Why arent they mixed armies like in native.  why arent they attacking from 1-2 fronts.

Have a "Defend the Castle" mode, where you and teammates defend a castle against a siege of warriors.

Seriously. That'd be a lot more fun than barricading a small house against peasants.

It seems like DTV is the number one way of getting exp and gold since the server is always completely full. (and thats with the kicking bug(!)) When I have played it I have noticed the chance of getting a 5x for a decent amount of time is pretty high. Perhaps the gain should be reduced a bit, or make it easier for more people to join in on the fun.

Is DTV rewarding too much or are the other gamemodes not rewarding enough? To complete four rounds of three waves takes quite a bit of time. It is also easy to fail at bandits and nomads thus falling back to x1.

It's not rewarding too much. XP and gold gains are much better in battle.

But it is way easier to leech. On the full 25 man server there are always 5+ leeches who stand in the back of the cave AFK. While the rest do the job. Also x5 multiplier is constant because those who don't spawn on the loosing wave (nords) get to keep it for the peasants all over again.

 - Remove all the silly player boundaries.
 - Allow horses and ladders.
 - Increase AI with ranged that actually does damage to tin can's.

From my experience DTV is actually the worst way to get gold and experience. The longer rounds end up with chances of repairs greatly increased so you often lose money. It's also very easy to mess up and lose depending on the chosen tactics used (or not). It's a very fun mode though (maybe my fav) but I always go to battle or siege servers when I want to get some experience and gold on a much more increased basis.

I like this, for example instead of spawning just peasants, let the percentage of peasant bots lower with each round, with the end being only plate-wearing bots with Arbalests.
