Laggs when there shouldn't be any

Weird Problem: Regularly i get connection problems ingame that raise my ping up to 800 and they last like 20 seconds.
Only got 368dsl (=dl 45kb/sec) which is in most cases the problem. But this time there is noone else in our home-network (Which is the reason for most of my laggs, but i checked that many times when those laggs occur) and there is absolutely no program that should download anything.

But still, NetMeter tells me that there are downloads and they can only be from the game itself. Wtf can i do about this?

Btw, as i said, usually i download with 45kb/sec...maps at cRPG only download with a speed of 20kb/sec and the DL-Rate ingame is also around 20kb/sec if i start playing.

Srsly...this is so fucking annoying.

Some friends mentioned it could have something to do with my graphic card, which got up to 110°C sometimes even at M&B.
Well, now that i got a new one and those lags still occur...srsly...WTF IS WRONG? ;____;

They are back. And they are pissing me off seriously.
I didnt change anything in the settings. Wtf is wrong with this game.

I don't know why the game downloads "stuff" ingame, but it does. And it's totally random.

I also get huge lags sometimes, where I can still see everyone playing, but if I try to move, I am just pulled back to the old position. Then after a few seconds, everyone else starts moving in a straight direction (even through air), and shortly after, it either resolves itself (with me being dead, of course, because for other players I was probably standing around idle), or I get a disconnect.

The game also randomly crashes with some kind of error message I don't see (because it is still drawing on the screen, over the message box). I know there is a message box, because I hear the windows error sound, and if I hit enter, the game closes.

Then I also get some 1-second lags sometimes, especially cool in a tight melee situation of course.

Lastly, I often get strange freezes, where the last two frames are repeated indefinately. I can ctrl-esc out and in and it is resolved, but yeah, I stand around during those 10-20 seconds, and of course usually get killed.

I have no idea what it could be, as all other games work fine. I will check if those things happen in native, too, sometime.

I don't think it's downloading stuff. The increased bandwidth usage might be the game trying to resynch with the server.

Try to run the game in "troubleshooting&safe" DX7 mode.

If your problems happen even on DX7, we can't do much.

I ran the game with the lowest settings possible and they still occured. Less, but just as annoying as with best settings.

C'mon...u can't be serious. I can run every game online without any laggs, as long as there is noone else in the net. But cRPG just keeps on lagging and lagging and lagging...
There has to be something else i can do.

I assume you mean 110°F because that hot celsius because 110°C would melt your computer.  Also 110°F isnt that bad for a video card.  I would start to get concerned when its going past 120-125°F.

Do you play other FPS games?  Do they lag?

You havent mentioned anything about updating drivers or what video card your using.

Have you tried unchecking or checking 'load textures on demand'.  It worked great for my card, but most clanmates it gave them MORE problems.

Also you're not really explaining the problem very well.  Are you STUTTERING or LAGGING.

Stuttering = complete freeze and lockup for a second or two when something big happens.

Lagging = temporary freeze than every goes super speed like 3 stooges to catch up, rubber banding.  ALso usually see ping in score jumping around all over the place.

Well, until we get your specs, some basic tips:

Download Rivatuner/EVGA Precision/Any VGA app, and increase fan speed to 80%.

Also, you can try to increase the buffer_size in Warband, so it shouldn't get overloaded. Here's how:

Go to your documents, find the Warband folder.

Open the TXT file called: rgl_config. Search for this line:

"Render_Buffer_Size"

If I am correct, warband uses a small buffer, you should try to increase it to 50% of your VGA ram for a good start.

Can't help much until you post specs mate.

No...it showed me the temperature in °C.

FPS= First Person Shooter?
Yeah, played CS:S for a very long time, Battlefield 2 and other Stuff and they all worked pretty good for me. Well...as long as i am the only one using the interwebz. But i checked that many times while playing cRPG.

Specs: Got a Intel Core 2Duo E8500, 8gb RAM and an ATI Radeon HD 6870. Anyhting else u'd like to know?

And of course, everything is updated. Also tried most of the settings. Nothing really changed anything.

And i am definitely lagging. I had some trouble with the fps dropping to 20 or 30 as well, but that does not happen a lot.
Ping goes up to 500 or 600, Download- and Upload-Rate increases (Always running NetMeter while playing cRPG) and sometimes i get those lagfreezes that zagibu described. Longest one was 2 min and 20 seconds long.

@Christo: Thx, i'll try that.
