From a Chivalry fanboy : Nope, chivalry has pierce, blunt, cut, chop weapons & resistances for each, not set damage.

Mount & blade has less attack directions, less block directions, no real realtime swing manipulation, no real torso mechanics WHAT THE F ARE THE TORSO MECHANICS?, no combos (LOL), footwork barely matters YEA (no sprint, no crouch,HUGE block boxes)--> THOSE ARE TRUE

theres way more advanced stuff chivalry has that m&b doesnt

chivalry just doesnt have chambering nor horses so cant comment on that

shields is literally holding rightclick for forcefield, attacks bouncing off is dumb because it limits player movement heavilyTHIS IS A GEM

Its just hard in the beginning because of the god awful controls, but chivalry has a far deeper learning curve and higher skill ceiling

Weirdly enough, I did see some WotR players actually making a sensible analysis of the problems with WotR and coming up with ideas which were basically reimplementing Warband. Chivalry on the other hand seems mostly unrecoverable. It's a fun game, but there's lots of gimmicks and no depth. It's cool that they tried however, because even though the Chivalry community seems to have an undying hatred for us and resent for their casul status, their existence gives M:BG more publicity.

Yeah seeing as it will probably be a long time before the next installment of Wars of the Roses comes out I think I'll pick up the first few of the Mongol ones.

Also whilst WoTR is a shit game pretty much. Chivalry is a cool gem of a game. Combat gameplay-wise superior to MB:WB. But there's a certain charm with Warband.

Maybe i feel like it just because i played the original mod before i even touched Warband and likes Chivalry overall.
