863 or something is what i heard recently. Yeah, it's my favourite period of history, i just wish i could run it, my main interest is the singleplayer to begin with

Yeah thats exactly right, I'm very fortunate I can play on my bro's desktop, the singleplayer is really nice, not gonna lie. Hopefully you can find a machine to play it properly mate.

I can confirm. Campaign isn't half bad. Currently past the story set in denmark.

Its pretty cool. Will check out the regular sandbox singleplayer action later.

I'm kind of interested in picking this up for the single-player if the story/direction is decent, after maybe all the bugs are hashed out.

My problem with Warband single-player is I've never gotten through more than a year in-game. By the time that point rolls around I'll have a kingdom, mostly hit the level soft-cap, be decked out completely and then the game becomes a slog with endless battles and the sieges in this game have always been crap.

I've also never had more than ~100 troops while later in the game vassals can start roaming around with 200+

I'm going to do this too, wait till all the bugs are ironed out, then enjoy the great singleplayer campaign, with actual quests and choices.

The only other mod which does this AFAIK is Light&Darkness.

the first patch adjusted some frame rate issues but needs more optimization and i think they are working on it.

Also worth mentioning that you acquire an attribute point every 5 levels, not every level, so it stops you blitzing to insane rambo stats and just tearing through everything from the start.

Does this mean that the soft level cap is much higher? In Native you usually stop levelling quickly at around 35 or so.

Please stop making the game sound appealing. What sort of quirks are left that they need to iron out before?

Also, how is the battle AI this time around? Did they improve upon the native slowly creeping towards the enemy until charging or just flat out charging at the beginning? Are the sieges any better?

No idea, i'm lvl 12 and it feels like leveling is slowing down at a similar rate. But i simply havent got far enough yet. Also it's a bit confusing because i'm still unsure if it's a bug or a feature but you can increase skills beyond the 1/3 attribute limit despite it saying 'cannot increase beyond 1/3' like it normally does. Still not sure if you receive the bonuses from these increases fully.

It seems that the skill limit on the attribute is 1/2, instead of 1/3.

Thanks for the feedback, Heskey.

I was sitting here about to impulse buy it but I guess I'll just wait a bit until I've heard they smoothed things out. I looked at the recent Steam reviews and even the positive ones a lot of the time read like mild versions of the negative ones.

I also tried Light and Darkness but I didn't stick with it for some reason and I can't remember exactly why, Polobow. Probably the fantastical bits because for whatever reason I don't feel like it meshes with M&B all that well, part of the reason why I didn't play too much of Prophecy of Pendor.

When I see all these former Warband mods turned DLCs, have to ask myself what if chadz did that instead of making a engine and game from scratch. We could play it, right now support for it would be ten times better than it is now and they could make Bannerlord version of it.

But in the end I believe Melee will be worthy of the effort they put into it.

Indeed Taleworlds should have embraced Crpg like a first child and they should have continued to do that with Bannerlord as well. No idea why it never happened. Donkey Crew would easily fortify the current and future player base in collaboration with Taleworlds.
