new pc halp

Planning on buying a new pc, best thing i found so far

http://www.amazon.it/Ankermann-PC-FX-ULTRA-FX-8350-4-00GHz-Dissipation-Professional/dp/B007I7H2RM/ref=cm_cd_ql_qh_dp_t

Best thing i found so far, started thinking buying components as I've always done, but this seemed rather nice.

First choices were

r9 280x/285 (read reviews on tom's hardware which were good and positevely impressed (only 2gb of ram))

Amd fx 8350

8gb ram

A new motherboard since this one is broken (only reads 1 instead of 2 ram memory banks and also only ddr2)

Tomorrow I'll post my current specs which will surely horrify you, thoughts on the item posted?

I wouldn't worry myself too much with video card memory, 2gb is decent, as are R9 280/R9280x for their price (dunno about 285).

This, very few games use over 2GB vram unless you're playing at a higher resolution than 1080p

Then again it seems to be becoming a trend for AAA publishers to make games so memory heavy that 2gb vram is bare minimum to even run game. :/

that is what scares me, pretty sure games like watch dogs, bf 4 and thief use more than 2 gb

They don't: BF4 minimum 500mb VRAM, Watch Dogs recommended - 2gb VRAM, and these are always exaggerated. Really, it doesn't matter that much that it should make you think of getting a video card with more than 2gb VRAM. 2gb VRAM is enough. It only really matters on super high resolutions and with some ridiculous textures (that don't all need to store into VRAM). Read the article I linked.

Quote
We tested Skyrim with the official high-resolution texture pack enabled. As you can see, 1 GB of graphics memory is barely enough to play the game at 1080p without AA or with MLAA/FXAA enabled. Two gigabytes will let you run at 1920x1080 with details cranked up and 2160p with reduced levels of AA. To enable the full Ultra preset and 8xMSAA, not even 2 GB card is sufficient.

Bethesda’s Creation Engine is a unique creature in this set of benchmarks. It is not easily GPU-bound, and is instead often limited by platform performance. But in these tests, we newly demonstrate how Skyrim can be bottlenecked by graphics memory at the highest-quality settings.

Unless you're aiming for super high end gaming build, 2GB is more than enough.

TDP is around 180-190 watts on full load per card, so you don't need to go overboard on the PSU.  I buy Seasonic PSU's and Corsair PSU's (which are just rebranded Seasonics), never had one fail on me.  Getting a cheap PSU tester just in case would be a good idea.

EVGA 850W G2 Supernova (rebranded superflower), phenomenal PSU and cheap to boot.
It'll support all your Xfire needs when the time comes, and is a great PSU to have in the meantime anyway :)

285 is fine, ASUS or Sapphire are the brands to go by AMD wise.
However, it appears Nvidia and AMD are planning new cards shortly (GTX 960 and AMDs RX 3XX series)

Might be worth waiting for those (It could be a couple of months though)
