What happens to shield this next patch?

Just wondering if you guys will do something with the shield items / shield skill in the next patch?

Right now it just feels a bit of a waste to want to invest points in it past 4.

Shields in general feel like quite a waste with everybody running around with an axe nowadays.

Still more than half the players on EU1 use a shield and with the upcoming patch giving the biggest boost to shielders (who need both agi and str to do well), we can only expect to see more.

Shield skill could use some tweaking tbh. Right now as the OP said, 4 skill is enough most of the time for your shield not to break the whole round.

Could see more shield smashyness with the IF changes encouraging higher STR + some bonus vs. shield weapon additions/buffs.

It's hard to say which will win out -- extra points in shield, or bigger shield smashy hits when something like a persian battleaxe can deal over 200 raw damage to a shield without speed bonuses.

Round Shield best shield: sucks arrows out of surrounding air onto its almost limitless HP pool once you get 6 shieldskill, often to be seen being used to protect whole groups of infantry with a single one.

KKS is not a shield, its just a frizbee put on somebody's arm. the board shield is just boaring. it's a fking piece of plywood with an arm strap on it. now the huscarl shield, that shit gives me a hard-on.

another way to look at it is that tydeus still plays with his G-I-joes while i'm driving moster trucks. taser would be the same as me but he played with barbies when he was younger.
