Because I did that via torrent the first time around back when it was released, discovering that the game was crap the hard way.

AAA =/= good.  You'd have to pay me to play this shit again

It's a great game, way better than successor (DA2) and probably better than Dragon Age 3. Last good RPG made by Bioware.

Bioware was good back when they made Baldurs Gate. NWN is like generic Baldurs Gate with epic modding potential and one good expansion in whole series. KotOR was also great, but that's mainly due to well executed SW lore. Mass Effect was good (sequels are mainstream mumbo-jumbo). Dragon Age has some funny banter between characters in the first half and quite effective start. Decent RPG as well and overall fun game but game became dull as you near the end.

Bioware games aren't inherently bad, they are good actually. Their biggest problem is: once you see one, you've seen them all (but that also goes for many other studios like Piranha Bytes and Bethesda Softworks).

If we're talking about RPGs, then you should play Divinity: Original Sin. It's better than Wasteland 2 imho, does many things better than Fargo's game which is buggy and revolves around one type of weapons (rest are just for show and nowhere near as useful like assault rifles).

ESO was made by Zenimax Studios, not Todd "copy/paste" Howard and his gang.

Not the same engine. Morrowind engine is vastly superior to modified Gamebryo bullshit he's been using since Oblivion. Since Daggerfall main point of TES games was freedom. They took that away from us in Oblivion because of bullshit consoles. In Daggerfall you could turn into a werewolf and levitate on a damn horse (like rider of apocalypse). You couldn't do that in Morrowind but there were rocket boots to make up for it. In Oblivion you couldn't do any of that shit (no levitation at all cause cities are closed areas) and as final nail in the coffin of freedom, in Skyrim you can't even create magic and potions like you could in previous games. With every installation he's taking choice from players.

I have high hopes in open source engine replacement for Morrowind. It's nearing completion for vanilla version of the game. They will keep improving it to support graphical mods like MGE and maybe one day (many years from now), they might even create multiplayer in it and find a way how to add all continents and create proper online version of TES games. Man can dream...

Yeah you could make crazy shit in morrowind. I loved the levitating spell (guards became stupid when you used it though) as well as the ability to make spells your own with huge ability to change and add stuff to make unique spells. (plus the soul trap stuff to make your speed 1000. lol)

Regardless DA origin is a fun game. Solid rpg. Haven't used Origin though so no idea if it is worth downloading through that. But YOLO.

Topdown games are the worst. Ewww. This isn't the 80s-early 90s anymore. Almost as bad design-wise as having cel shaded graphics /cartoon graphics.
