Reducing ping

Not really a bug but I am writing here because I am desperate.

My ping 3 months ago on cRPG was about 80 (and that was good), now it rarely drops below 125. It is getting really really hard to play melee at this stage.

No I am not downloading porn or filling up my bandwith somehow.
Ping on european native servers is usually around 50 (always was 50).

Does anyone have any idea what might cause this high lag and ideas how to reduce it (even if just a little bit). Are there any special commands/settings that can help reduce your ping/lag?

Is it just that my connection can't handle so many people being on one server?

whats your system, is it good enough for mount & blade warband?
maybe you need to clean your pc. delete garbage, defragment etc.

First,restart your modem.
If that doesn't work, try to change your DNS to a different one.
If that doesn't work either contact your ISP.

Yeah my system is badass enough.

As for ISP, thats fine, because like I said, every other european native server = about 50 ping, even with 60+ people on

I was thinking maybe its cRPG related. Dunno

Sorry for bumping:

still desperate.

I also tried direct connection to modem, no router, nothing between pc and modem.

12/3 dl/ul connection, still high ping on EU cRPG servers.

Any ideas anyone?

I usualy get some ping issues (not so desperate though). It does help to lower resolution and every feature to the minimum. I guess its not the best option but works for me...

Are you sure you're not mistaking latency(ping) for fps lag?

Because I doubt that would help.

Funnily enough, reducing gfx reduced my ping too.

I think it's got something to do with how fast your comp can process the information it's receiving + ping back.

At least you can try it and if it doenst work, no harm done.

Yeah tried all kinds of stuff, gfx changes, doing some packet tracing and bandwith control...

In the end, I really think it's my ISP.
