I would watch the show first, then the movies. I find the movies very good but a bit rushed, I'm not sure I would be able to follow the story properly if I hadnt watched the show beforehand  :P

Berserk - golden age, is turning out to be a badass anime... I'm halfway through II.

On another note, this is a western Graphic Novel rather than an anime, but the "Preacher" series by Garth Ennis is fucking top notch.

For the horror / mystery interested; Story spans over several arcs, so even though it starts with them being kids, dont be put off. Seriously, just watch it  8-)

Finished watching this today. Great series, good music and an awesome story.

Little Witch Academia. That's the kickstarter, but first episode is there too.

Or How about RWBY?

Opinions anyone?

Bump. Just started reading the Berserk manga, since my friends told me that the anime is pretty censured and only contains part of the story. This will be my first manga 8-)
So far it seems pretty cool.

damn I have been so out of it last year, heaven't watched much anime pretty out of the loop :3

I'm planing to get back into the game, my japanese friend told me that the biggest thing now there is Shingeki no Kyojin, have you guys seen it, something about human eating giants, sounds disturbingly lovely

what else do you recommend?
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

Thread must live, i recommend Mushishi, it just got a second season going and its amazing. Hard to describe what its about but its really relaxing to watch and still very exciting. Every episode is sort of a new story with fairly little connection to the previous one but still keeps you watching.
I just love the way the stories are told and how the fantasy part isnt overwhelming but still there. Probably one of my top 3 animes. Go watch it now.

Lately seen:
Code Geass (incredible series, fantastic ending)
Baccano (also awesome)
Another (so-so horror-ish anime)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (not a bad anime, imo a bit overrated, super wtf ending)

Currently watching:
FMA:Brotherhood (I've seen original FMA before, but people say FMA:Brotherhood is much better)
One Piece
JoJo's Bizzare Adventure (super manly and super gay)

Mushishi is definitely planned for me, heard about it before.
 8-)

Code Geass (incredible series, fantastic ending)

I love it and rewatched it atleast ~3 times, there are also two movies but without Lelouch  :|
FMA:Brotherhood (I've seen original FMA before, but people say FMA:Brotherhood is much better)

Well, depends on your taste. The original FMA is more child friendly while Brotherhood is more leaned to the manga and because of that has way more emotion than the first season.

And Mushishi is realy undescribable, i dont know how i could describe it but to put it simple: Its a about a "normal" man helping people

Last but not least i recommend you guys "no game no life" which is from the current season (started in april) and is atm at episode 7. Its (to put it short) about two NEETs (brother and sister) which are teleported to a world where everything is decided by games.
