Construction sites & materials in battle and siege mod

I would suggest reducing the number of construction materials it takes to build everything in battle, and siege mode. It could be really interesting and more fun if there is sometimes a base in game where the enemy army will charge into, costing a little but yet being possible to build and expanding the mod, because as it is now it's completely impossible to build anything without being sure to loose the round or being rushed into by enemies. For strat, of course, letting the numbers the same.

No ladders in siege and battle, okay, but think about building a siege tower in siege mod that could actually be not the stupidest idea you ever had to win the round, that could be exciting, or real nice.

For example
-Weapon rack: 3 construction materials instead of 5
-Small siege tower in battle: 20 instead of 55
-Large siege tower in battle: 25 instead of 85 (still takes a lot of time to build, and not much more useful than the small, but getting much more fun)

Sure: Pulling things out of a weapon rack on battle or siege allows you to bypass upkeep and balance-related ammunition limitations and is therefore an exploit. Ban.

Making siege towers (or freaking catapults) has, in my experience, lead only to disruption of the way rounds play, where the portion of the team constructing anything is effectively doing nothing until it's finished and then waits for the enemy team to approach (or slowly wheels forward). Sure, you can do that kind of thing without siege gear, but incentivizing ways to have people effectively stop participating in the majority of a round, or worse, to skew map balance (imagine a siege tower on top of MotF or a siege flag) makes for a much worse game.


They ought to be disabled on non-strat servers like they were before.

Personally I think that both factions need to adapt to the supported mechanics, using the guidelines above. Construction equipment can be very effective when placed properly, not at the edges of the map or out of the way areas (in general). Players who work together as a team will win more consistently than those who do not. Charging recklessly is a valid play style and I will not counsel you to stop doing what you find fun, but if winning is what you find fun, you might consider working with the resources given in the game in the way of controlling cavalry charges and blocking arrow storms and that means cooperating with teammates who must build these fortifications in useful places for the team.
