HELLO SORRY THAT I SPAMMED YOU WITH A MESSAGE TO THIS PAGE, I COULDN'T HELP IT I HAVE A CONDITION CALLED BEING A HUGE FUCKING NERD.

After diving into and becoming pretty familiar and good with the Warband map editor a few weeks ago, I've been honing my nerd energies into making maps because it's surprisingly fun. So I've come up with a few good ideas for tournaments/events, and maps I could make to enhance them. These are all things I would like to make, just I don't know in what order I would like to do them, and if I will ever get around to them. I was curious what the community would most like to see.

I'm going to list a few combinations of maps I could make and the game modes I had planned to use with them. EDIT: I've just wrote down three of the game modes I want to create because it took long enough to write this and I got tired of typing. Feel free to mention any other game modes to me that you think could be interesting, maybe I haven't thought of them... and please share this with other members of the community so we can see what people want through the poll's votes.

Regicide (inspired by Age of Empires): Two teams compete fighting from different houses/forts/castles/cities/sides of a river/whatever the fuck I decide to make the map, with the sole goal of keeping one specific player on their team alive. This player is dubbed their king (or whatever the fuck I decide to name him i.e. Autist, Virgin, Bitchbaby, etc). Victory is awarded to the team who keeps their king alive longer than the other team; if your king dies you lose, if their king dies they lose. Theres a lot of fun variables to consider, for example we could allow all the players on each team that aren't kings to respawn so its like a deathmatch to kill the enemy king.

The Hunger Games (inspired by The Hunger Games): A free for all deathmatch gamestyle using the biggest map I can possibly make. Players start with armor but no weapons. Admins will drop weapons into a big pile in the middle of the map, on an island surrounded by a small shallow river. Players spawn in a circle outside of the island. Players must rush to the island to arm themselves with whatever weapon they can find, and proceed to either slay as many players as they can, or run to safety and let everyone slaughter each other. The part of the map surrounding the middle island (the cornucopia) will contain mountains or hills and foresty terrain, as well as maybe some swamps or rivers or something... maybe even a random ass house or two or a very small fort. We would have a time limit on this and allow whatever people want to happen (maybe 1 hour?). People could make their own impromptu tribes to survive, and find safety for themselves. If things get too boring, we can start throwing players that already died or admins out as challenges to the living players, maybe as cav teams meant to hunt them down or something. Lots of potential.

cRPGMANIA WRESTLING CAGE MATCH TOURNAMENT: A stylized 2v2 tournament with commentators. Four players will step into an elevated cage surrounded by spectator towers and smoke and flame. We could run the tournament with either unarmed or armed combatants. As for the event itself, the way I am most thinking of having things is one event with 8-16 teams fighting for the top spot. Teams would be seeded into the tournament by posting in a thread and saying their team's name, introduction music, theme, and players. Whatever posts get the most upvotes get seeded to play in the tournament. This map is already completed.

Regicide and the cage mtch sound really good,but hungergames is basicly impossible because the weapons will the despawn.


Voted for map fixes,bloody hell we need those.

Well presumably players would just run in and get the weapons right away, and whatever despawns forget about it.

UPDATE: the vote hasn't been very clear so far but I had several people really sound excited about Battle Royale/Hunger Games/Johammeth's name I might use but forgot. So I started toying around with the idea for it. Here is the absolute roughest draft imaginable, just me toying around before any actual work.

I've used the map editor to experiment with what the maximum size for a map is, and here is a sample of part of the terrain I generated. It's massive. The map extends beyond those mountains across the river, and extends quite a bit behind my character. It takes several minutes to ride from one end of the map to the other. Here is the absolute roughest draft of the description I meant when I said there would be a cornucopia with weapons laid there by the admins at the beginning of the game before players are allowed to spawn. That place halfway surrounded by water would be totally surrounded by water like that, except maybe by a narrower channel of water. That would be the island, and it would filled with weapons.

I might make some wilderness forts, houses, tree forts, etc for players to use if they get a weapon and get back to the wilderness. I won't show you guys much of that because I wouldn't want to spoil the secrets of the map when I make it.

Now I'm just hoping that I get word back from a scene manager (Fips) about whether or not he/the cRPG servers will accept a map this huge. Here's to hoping they do!

We only have a 600kb limit for maps on rotation. Seeing this is an event map you don't need to worry about that. If anything, I think it will be very hard to enforce a lot of the games you envisioned.

I think working on a proper conquest game mode for NA1 would be awesome (doesn't have to be complex...basically mirroring how strategus works would probably be good enough). 

That being said, I think Regicide could be a lot of fun seeing that there'd be a "VIP" to protect and an actual objective for people to fight over.

There's a lot of truth in this sadly. This game just isn't suitable for something like that. Could be modded into Melee when the time comes though.

You're making maps yes, but what about the game modes? Are you expecting people to make them and get them implemented for you?
