Beginner here. About damaged equipment

Hi,

I've been playing this mod for less than 1 week and lately my equipment started breaking every round, almost all of them. I had 10k and I lost it all in a few rounds, and now can't keep enough money to even repair them anymore. They just keep breaking and now some of them are getting unusable. Is this a game mechanic or some kind of bug?

Thanks.

Oh, and another thing. I repaired my arrows but when I get in-game, they simply don't show up. Right now I have no weapon.

You shouldn't have lost 10k so quickly unless you are using plate or other expensive stuff. Another thing that hurts you is that you rarely get a multi cause you can't really banner stack. I recommend you go lighter on your armor until you start going positive on your money. It is not a bug. It is called upkeep. Your arrows don't show up because you have no weapon that uses them

Hi. Thanks for the answer.

I do have a bow to use it with. I'm level 27 and it started happening this morning. I use the equipments I have now since lower levels (Surcoat over mail, Steppe horse, Nomad bow, Tatar arrow, Espada Eslavona, Light Strange helmet, Black leather gloves and eastern lamellar greaves). All of them started suddenly breaking every round, even the horse. That's why I thought maybe it could be a bug, but I'm not sure.

In a few rounds my sword went from perfectly fine to unusable.

Your armor and horse is your problem. Those are your more expensive stuff. I recommend you go lower on armor for a horse archer. Your stuff breaking constantly is just your luck ( or lack of). I don't know the reason for your arrows not being used, but it is likely cause of one of the items involved being broken.

The arrow issue was fixed by exiting the game and opening again.

About things breaking, maybe it's just bad luck then. Very bad, I must say. And just when my character started getting good.

Every item has a chance to break with every xp/gold tick you get during a round, if it breaks it will have to be repaired for a portion of the shop price at the end of a round. This is to prevent people from using really expensive stuff all the time, it is still possible, but it will cost you. Statistically every player should be able to break even with about a 40k total gear cost. This is a long term statistic, which means that you can easily lose like 20k with a bit of bad luck, but you will also sometimes get lucky and gain money. If you look at your inventory on the cRPG page it shows you the gear cost, I recommend you to try to get that around 30k to be sure to not lose money and perhaps even build a bit of a buffer. If you have like a 50k buffer you can try out using equipment that costs 40k.

You appear to be playing a horse archer, which is a very expensive class due to the horse and multiple stacks of arrows. I believe arrows have an added breaking chance because people often use multiple stacks  of them so they break often. Apart from that weapon breaking chances depend on the amount of wpf for that weapon. If you have somewhat low archery wpf still, the weapon will break more often.

I did a quick guesstimation of your gear and it appears you have about 40k total cost. In theory this should allow you to break even, but arrows break more often and you don't have much of a gold buffer. So in the short term you will go broke for sure. I believe repairing is done automatically be default, but if you go broke it won't repair automatically as you don't have the money. In that case you need to manually go to your items on the webpage and repair them. This can be really annoying as it takes a long time to update ingame, unless you rejoin the server.

You should try to get your gear cost down closer to 30k. Your armour is quite heavy for a horse archer, armour weight reduces your archery wpf. I recommend using something in the 3,5k-4k cost range. Your sword, the Espada Eslavona is one of the more expensive swords and as you have a bow, you probably don't even use it that much. I think some other good but cheaper choices are a Scottish Sword, Short Arming Sword or the Military Sickle.

Thanks for the help, people. I'll try using less expensive and lighter stuff. It will take a while until I collect the money though.

Is the mongolian lamellar vest light enough for a horse archer?

Well, since I already have a light strange helmet, I think I'll go for the light strange armor to complete the set.

Good choice

Go to the marketplace on the website, click on offers, click add trade and create a trade that requests 30k gold for some cheap item like stones. Post the link to the offer here and I'll accept it.

Teeth, thanks a lot. It will save me a lot of time :D

Here's the link: http://c-rpg.net/index.php?page=marketplaceoffertradeupdate&id=663341

I had just put it there for that other thread where the guy was offering 30k for beginners, but then I found out the thread was closed and the offer probably ended.

I believe arrows have a higher chance to break than other stuff, and each stack can break in a round. Should probably take regular arrows rather than Tartar

Looks like the problem was really those tartar arrows. I switched to regular arrows and got a positive balance again.

The Espada is also quite expensive given what it does. Since you are a beginner, you can't probably use the stab at its maximum effectiveness, so I'd recommend to switch to a cheaper weapon. If you want to keep practice stabbing, I recommend the Scottish. If you are okay with trying something different, I recommend the Spiked Mace: It is a wonderful weapon for beginners, since it is cheap, has a decent damage (thanks to blunt), and it can even be loomed until it is as strong as an Iberian Mace +0 with significantly less upkeep.

Yeah, don't use those arrows, they are the spawns of demons when it comes to breaking chance. I should also say the Knightly Arming Sword is extremely expensive for what it's worth.
