Why are they just giving out closed beta keys? And nice how the FAQ on the R6 site says pre-ordering guarantees beta key, then they just give them out to every plebian out there.

I think it's different types of beta access. The ones they're giving out last just a few days, from what I heard.

I'll give it a try.
The destruction part seems a nice feature but I highly doubt that I'll enjoy it. Not enough to spend moneyz on it, at least.

Yeah well WHATEVER

it seems that beta access will be going out in waves, not all at once, starting today/yesterday

Quote
Hello everyone,

The day we've all been waiting for is here.Tthe Rainbow Six Siege Closed Beta has officially begun, and the first wave of invites are already going out. Yesterday we released a blog post giving some information on the current state of the beta and how we would be operating it. We realize there is still some confusion and frustration regarding how access is being granted, and why we're doing it this way.

As you know, we are granting access to the Closed Beta in waves. We obviously want to get you access as quickly as possible (we want you to play and have fun!), but the focus of our testing right now is on player experience flow and matchmaking. By staggering beta access, we can better manage server stability as the player population ramps up, which is crucial to a great experience when the game launches December 1st. We will be addressing load testing at a later date. We've already gathered a lot of incredibly useful data during the last few days of the technical test, and we have many matchmaking improvements in the development pipeline. We expect to make even more progress over the weekend with your help.

Anyone who pre-ordered the game will be receiving their beta activation email today (North American time zone), and we are currently in the process of sending those out. By the end of the day, we will also be sending out invites to a large number of those who had guaranteed access codes redeemed on the website. If you do not receive your invite today please hang tight, we will give an update tomorrow morning.

We're working to get you in the game as quickly as possible so please check your email daily. We're grateful and humbled by your passion to play, and we want to work together so you can have the best experience now and at launch. Thank you for your understanding, we can’t wait to get your feedback once you’re in!

I really liked the first game in the series, are any of the others worth taking a look at? Also played the first Ghost Recon game.

Raven Shield is the best R6.

Oh yeah, watching videos I remember playing it but my PC couldn't handle the graphics satisfactorily back in 2003.

It's the last true R6, and the first one with some modern additions like visible gun.

Aged very well too, I played it through a couple years ago and I don't generally like playing old games again.

played raven shield and did some esl clanbase(dead) tournaments with my clan , was a very fun and strategic game , not to mention the terrorist hunt gamemode played in crazy custom maps.
r6:siege seems an fast paced shooter with some cool features but looks like another cod style game imho :(

Siege, btw, is/will be worth maximum of 15 dollars. Shallow, console FPS gameplay with gimmicks that are either gay or pointless or both. And the much lauded destruction is just some pre-determined points that get destroyed in a pre-determined (as opposed to dynamic) way. Yawn.

And "champions" in a FPS game? Really?

Damn, I used to love this franchise, I miss tearing it up on City Street Large and Killhouse on the old MSN gaming zone

Xant did you ever play on the SnapS, SMAK or PaB servers on RS or RVS? Old Clan leader owned a netcafe in Aalborg DK and had a T1 or T3 connection for hosting servers back in the day when dialup was still common
