I like booth your suggestions.
Here are mine, which can be done as well. They will decrease the grinding part of cRPGa lot and thus decrease the gap between new and old players.

What about the following. It could be done fairly easy and I think most would agree to it.

Solution for loomed items of which the difference between +0 and +3 is currently unecessary big:
If unloomed items had stats similar to +2 items it would be sufficent. It's still possible to have various improved stats for +1, +2 and +3 since there are several stats of an item.

Solution for high levels which takes too long to grind up to.
Difference between 30 and 36 is for example +6 strength, +2 power strike, +2 power draw +2 ironflesh (+10hp extra).
That's quite a lot but still, we can have it like that if we decrease experience required to reach it.

So instead of setting a level cap at 30, we can set it at 36 but make it a lot faster to reach it.
Level 31 is currently 8,735,843. Just make level 36 reachable at 8,735,843 * 6 (6 loompoints when retiring).

The reason for having 36 as cap is that it's more fun with higher leves since you can make a more extreme build.
The diversity between builds will simply be higher. Also, all players who are now at 36 won't be affected (just a bit mad).

You can compensate people when you make this change by giving them loompoints or gold in relation to their current xp.

Most people go high level cuz they found their class and have everything they need loomed, I guess.
There is no real incentive to retire at all any more.

Maybe interesting for some newer guys...

I don`t know, but if I had a level 35 character, I would insta retire him for the "Panos the Genocider of Turks" custom title

if the second was implemented before I was level 35.5 I would have probably retired. hopefully 36 gives me like 100 lps if this is changed.
We're all nerds here, so it doesn't really matter.

but it's nice to have the whole community agree on something for once
Like the perma rain.
I think, we mostly all agreed on this.
But devs do not really care ^^

But anyway, it's not the topic.

From my point of view, i am high level, but i have very few looms.
Someone who retires a lot, will have much more looms and will adapt easier.

(Even if, to be honnest, looms are overrated)

The main effect of increasing looms for high level retirements will be even less people retiring mains or alts at lvl 31 or 32.

If it was done as a one off clear out on a specific day maybe, after that I would suggest no loom increase at all after lvl 32 to incentivise people to retire at 31/32 and stop the lvl inflation and lack of variety we are currently seeing. You go high level because you want uber stats not more looms.

But a day where high level retirements got bonus looms as a one off, maybe even linked to XP not just level, would refresh the mod a bit.

i played the class i play for 3 years and its fun as ever. never gets boring.

I have a 15/30 HA build atm, you might think its OP but its not by a long shot (and i dont like it, one reason why i stopped playing was that i couldnt switch my build as it would cost me to much ). If i had the possibility to respec without losing all my xp i would come back with my old swiss knife build, which is not op at all.
I bet your char build is more "OP" than mine, but what matters in the end is the player skill not the build  :D

EDIT: I might also add, im not looking for an OP build, i  want the possibility to change build at high lvl as it allows to have more diversity, be more "unique". Today most people are rolling with the same generic builds that offer little change in gameplay.
