Still too early to tell. Give them time to work out the quirks. My faith in the series have been shaken by risen 2, but I still have hope.

Combat looks quite arcadeish, with those charged attacks at speed of light and the rolling. Let's hope the story is at least good.

I admit I had a little bit of fun with Risen, when it was the very start of the game. But after I got the first discthingy and the guy told me I need to go on a scavengerhunt all around the gameworld to find many more, I just gave up. It got really boring from there. I couldnt finish it, I just lacked the will to continue from there. Cause I really didnt give a shit. Eventhou Risen 2 was even a shittier game, somehow I managed to finish that and it didnt feel like utter pain. Risen was a complete chore of an experience to me. I wouldnt have finished it even if people had pay'd me to do it.

Yah, I don't really like the Risen series and never thought of them to be good.

This, exactly, I quit at the same point too, I don't get the hype around even the first game, I thought it was pretty mediocre, I didn't touch the second game and I certainly won't touch this one either lol.

Well it got released. It aint half bad. Somewhat of a meh experience. I quess the biggest prob I have is that we are back to this pirate thing. I really hoped that we would stick to a fantasy Dark age medieval setting of a sort, but since Gothic already has done it and failed many times now, im quessing the Risen team is trying to avoid it. The combat is also meh, it is atleast quite responsive now and you can block basically some attacks and dodging works fine etc. Its okayish. Game of the Year, if it was 2006. Really feeling like this game belonged to the past.

I've read 2 tests and one said "Well, it's better than Risen 2... but just barely." and the other one said "This game is just bad."

Nope, not even considering to pirate the pirate game.

By the looks of it they are just making the same game, but simply adding some new lame features, new maps, creatures, shit story etc. The engine and everything basically looks hardly tweaked at all. Tbh I actually even kinda like this one. I mean its still shit, but the scavangerehunts are just so fun and the somewhat hard difficulty is actually quite enjoyable. And now that melee is somewhat at passable level, its quite alright.

Oh for fucks sake, why couldnt they just drop the pirate bullcrap? I want swords and magic, not guns and parrots ffs!

EDIT: I cant believe you are still holding the grudge for our earlier skyrim discussion Tibe, or at least you seem to.

Lol the only good thing about risen 2 WAS it's setting, pirates are 10x more interesting than more fucking fantasy crap.

But none of that matters cuz the series will always be shit
