Make them indestructible, or at least remove the health bar! These things are just too tempting to hit when you are uninformed. New players come to DTV, think they are loot chests that drop something after being destroyed, cut them to pieces and get ban polled for it.
Or find a different solution, like writing it into the server's welcome message: "Welcome to cRPG DTV. Do not destroy the equipment box. Enjoy your stay." Might as well create a red text message: "Player XXX is hitting the equipment box!", like what happens when you hit V. This will make new players stop thinking it is good to destroy them.
