I believe the Chinese players like cavalry formations moving together in charge or flanking, not just single super maneuverable horseman/cav taking over the field. If you promote less use of maneuverability for cavalry, cavalry will be great for a charging formation.Also, the Japanese did use Yumi on horseback
That was for archery competitions/ceremony type things. Horseback archery was not widely used in Japan.
But there is nothing wrong with adding more thing from other cultures. People can also use the Yumi as a foot archer, which was actually what you are saying also. Or you are saying it should be changed to 2 slots to promote Yumi foot archers.
