I'm having such a hard time playing FC 3,shit story and the most annoying main character of all times, ffs I don't want him to live, I want him to get horribly murdered. From what I gather the story is even shittier in FC 4, sure both games look good and the action ain't bad but hell it's a action movie experience, lot's of eye candy covering a pile of generic shit.
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

Since do FPS need a good story?
Guess I've missed that development. I wanna kill people and blow shit up in fabulous fashion. I get that from FC3 and I am positive FC4 delivers on that front too.
When west germany annexed east germany, nobody moved a finger too.

Since there are games like Bioshock and Dishonored that have a noice story, an awesome atmosphere and are a real pleasure to dive into. Compared to the two FC looks like a not bad looking downie american kid.

essentially if you want more of the same that you got from fc3, with some new guns, vehicles and a new setting, then you should give it a try.  if your hoping for a change in the basis of the game or some revolutionary new mechanics then you will be disappointed.

game looks nice enough but i wont pick it up until its heavily reduced, still have to finish 3 which has taken me well over a year of on and off play.

I don't get why molly keeps defending games with shitty story and decent gameplay, I'm sorry people expect a game fine on more levels than gameplay when they pay 50 $ for a game released as complete and being patched at day 1.

Fuck that. Not getting this game.
I were about to shit bricks when being in those epic cool Tomb Raider-esque underground ruins in Far Cry 3. All i could hear was that fucking snake sound.

Was looking online if someone had a mod where they replaced the sound and model for snakes. Someone i think had found a way to replace them with chickens i believe. Or maybe that was the sound but i never found a proper mod or how to change it.

Didn't take long for me to realize Far Cry 3 was better with a gamepad on PC. Most games are nowadays. Some games like Tomb Raider and Middle Earth let you seamlessly switch from gamepad and mouse with on the fly UI changes for all the prompts. Far Cry might do that as well. I just chill out roaming around stealthing with the gamepad and switch to mouse if I need to snipe.

Honestly controllers are way better designed for everything but strategy games than a mouse. Get with the times grandpas

Hell I just use fan made drivers to use a PS3 controller as an Xbox on Windows and it works flawlessly with every game so I didn't even have to buy anything.

I spent my first six hours or so in Far Cry 3 hunting wild animals for their pelts and doing all the crafting stuff. You are really missing the point of the game if you obsess over the shitty characters and cutscenes instead of you know free roaming the environment. Assaulting strongholds with stealth or over the top action is the whole meat of the game, try focusing on that.

That is what throw me away from that game, after not that bad intro we are starting to collect flowers and hunt for boars... I was like wtf and uninstalled the game within a minute... I expected some good action from that game, for me it was just another dissapointing AAA title that I couldn't even play for more than 1 hour. Good thing that I acutlly pirated this one.

I agree on part with game controller, some time ago I bought xbox 360 gamepad and I don't have to bother myself with any kind of emulators becouse of Xinput. I am so satifisied with it, it is far more convenient than PS 3 controller.

Thx for the tip, I actually am doing exactly that. I'm not chasing the main quest because it just is not appealing in any way, neither are the characters, cheesy as fuck especially they whiny main hero and his friends. The mohawk dude is ok, like him.

I spent last hours roaming arround being randomly attacked by tigers and shit . What kinda buggs me is, I get to an area crawling with pirates, clear it loot it, half an hour later I decide to progress a bit with the main quest, it sends me back there like nothing happened (somebody necromanced the pirates I guess) on some bogus go here kill him disable this mission. Also stealth in this game is terrible.

I also play it on an xbox controller like most of the first/third person singleplayers, you can just feel the game was made to be played like that. Used to own X360, played Halo and CoD online, so I'm quite used to the aiming and controlls, it feels better imo.
