Apart from the slightly laggy experience at EU primetime, it's wonderful. It's BY FAR the most populated WoW (vanilla) private server, which I think in the private scene is very important, since low pop servers tend to die out fast. 7700 people online yesterday when I checked. Means you have enough people to get a group easily for pretty much everything and should be able to for a long time in the future as well.

I'm playing pretty casually myself as well. Vanilla leveling can get boring fast if you hardcore it so I'm taking it somewhat easy.

I strongly recommend this Vanilla Guide Addon for you who are leveling up. It helps a lot. Trust me, your leveling time will be reduced!

Me (Kirah) and cdlp on this forum decided to make Vanillaguide compatible with alliance and after few days of work we are finally done! We used Brian Kopps 1-60 alliance guide as a base and we included all waypoints for quests etc (works like Zygor). So enough babbling, here is Vanillaguide remade for Alliance :

You install it just like an ordinary addon. And in order for the waypoints to work you got to have Metamap+BWP installed, I've included it here http://www.mediafire.com/download/fhs5rl67152ab2e/EQL3+Metamap+WHDB.rar together with Extended Quest Log 3 and Wowhead database as a supplement for the guide. In order for the waypoints to show you have to enable metamap+bwp in the vanillaguide addon in it's settings if you press the cogwheel button. Enjoy!

This will guide you what quests to do, in which order, and where to quest. You'll have a small window in-game showing you step by step. Simply awesome!

btw I rerolled magus, "Tinnen" cause fuck melee on this delay lol

am also using that questguide, it's pretty damn good, allthough I know most quests up to level 30/40 already by heart )
