half the banners on EU are black and it causes more team hits than i don't know what, honestly the people i teamhit most are mercs because i can't see their bloody banner lol -_-
rename yourself the BRIGHT PINK Company or the RAINBOW Company or something
in all serious though, bright, simple banners are definitely the best, i personally think some of the best banners on EU 1 are byzantium's, ODE's, kalmar's, etc etc (bright, simple banners)
any high res images look shit on banners, look at the merc's history of banners they all look utter crap because they try to get these high res images on their banners, SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE banners!
if you want to continue being the BLACK COMPANY, you could have a brightly coloured banner, with a black bit in the middle, it would stand out a lot more
