I agree we should change exp as such.

I disagree, all of the changes together are too much.  Maybe change only some of them.

I am ok with the current system, or waiting until a true overhaul.

I like none of these changes and the current system needs a current overhaul.

New Idea for EXP/ALT Progression Rebalance

What if we change exp as the following:
1.)  The number of generations becomes shared in the account.  Now every time you retire it applies to all characters (the accounts will be summed for all those currently existing characters in the account).
2.)   All generations over the cap still now grant +1 exp more per tic, increased by the multi.  (A small bonus to vets.)

Some thoughts as to why it's good:

1.)  Benefits multiple alts/multiple retiring.  Respecing only becomes a requirement if you really messed up your build, or you can buy it on the AH.
2.)  People with crazy high level alts can keep their alts or decide to retire them and gain some benefit.
3.)  New players are encouraged to try out many builds on many characters.

What do you guys think?

IMO the current score/valour system is very outdated.

I would like a fixed XP/gold income for everyone despite win or lose. Everyone spend exact same amount of time playing this.

Also I would like valour to be removed entirely from the mod. This will decrease the current amount of high damage dealers such as polearms and/or some 2handers. Also we will see the high damage dealers attend the INITIAL FIGHTING and not running around trying to catch 1vs1 or lowlevel stragglers, hiding to avoid them enemy and team projectiles.

If score/valour/gain system is changed, banner balance has to be changed or removed as well.

Score system and banner balance is brother and sister.

I don't like the OP because it gives greater benefit to the old players.
As it is now if you want to go high level with your main you have to go with low exp on your alt to gain looms. So your time spent on new looms is more equal to new players.
If your change gets implemented old players can go for high level on one charakter and do some fast levelling on their alt for looms.
I only approve changes that favour new players.

Yeah, me too.  I favor those 1-2 new players per month over the 50 returning vets

In all seriousness, you're right though.  The change I suggested does benefit veteran players, it's true.  The counter point I make is this:

Newbies can still have multiple alts, one high/one for retire and they get the same benefit.  The only difference is they dont have any generations stored up.  Well here's a kicker:  they wouldn't have any generations either -- so the change has no impact on them.

The only thing this does is encourage people to retire more, respec less, and stop paying an arm and a leg for respecs on the market.

Also, about Sniger's idea:

I've thought about your suggestion previously, but I don't think it's the best.  Valour/points/the chart/multi encourages people to actually get into the game and fight.  Do you remember back before valor and flags?  People would hide in haystacks because "my multi" or because they were trolls.  Valor and flags have helped mitigate that.

I agree, a flat rate wouldn't be a bad idea, but then you run the risk of introducing more naked peasant builds to save money.  At least with valor if I wear plate and kill 30 dudes and pay 10k a round for it, I at least get valor and save my multi!

This is a good idea, because 1 exp more per tick is not really game-breaking or an unfair advantage for some players, yet a little motivating factor to retire more often instead of going high level

But with double exp that's actually 2 more exp per tick!  With 5x that's 10 more exp per tick.  With gen 16 that's 14.5 more exp per tick for each gen :)

Clearly that's OP.
