dunno why but i always knew it was said that looms were thought to just help a little people that retired, and not change the game drastically; now this can be easily countered by saying "omelette du fromage body armor"; having to get 5/6 more weight just to get as heavy armored as some old player that clearly hasn't fucked up everything like i did feels like a real handicap. i would say to buff all unloomed items. here's something to give a basic idea

armors (leg/body/head)

Loomed once get +1 *** armor
Loomed twice get +2 *** armor
Loomed three times get +3 *** armor

(and not 5; why 5? every other thing gets or used to get 3, why armors 5 (which is at least less retard than the old 7 :l )

weapons (1h/2h/polearms cut/pierce damage)

Loomed once get +1 damage
Loomed twice get +1 speed
Loomed three times get +1 damage

weapons (1h/2h/poles with blunt damage)

Loomed once get +1 damage
Loomed twice get +0.5 weight
Loomed three times get +1 damage

basically something like this; as for shield/ranged/throwing weapons or horses I don't really know or really care, but i'd like 1h and armors to be changed asap, cause the difference between loomed/non loomed item is huge especially in these 2 sets.

I agree, looms are too important in cRPG. I'm not saying they shouldn't provide any bonus, but they definitely ought to be changed.

maybe nerf rl sexiness of looming player?  i.e. if you loom item you get better armor,  but loose all your hair irl so you wont get laid unless you pay for it,  making you suffer financially for looming items which might prevent people from looming and make them just retire  w/o looming cause they think theyll be young again and get their hair back but its only in game not rl so they wont.

Your comments about why looms are an issue aren't clear, to make your point more visible you need to elaborate more. All I got from your thread was "looms are OP" and "here's how we can nerf them".

Basic guide on how to structure a thread asking for a nerf:
What you want nerfed?
Why do you want it nerfed?
How does this benefit the community?
Suggestions for ideas on how to nerf?


I play a lot without looms on some of my characters as I do build tests all the time so I've never got one item that I keep looms on and it'd be too expensive to reforge them every time, I've never personally found a massive difference between having a fully loomed character and not having one, at least not one that I specifically notice, other players may feel differently though.

Maybe he did, but it's not legible at all, It's cluttered and impossible to make anything out of, at least for me. Maybe one of the other balancing team can sift through it and make something out of it but I certainly can't.

What does this mean? I don't understand. If you're able to understand the thread in its entirety could you explain to me? I'm not trying to be an ass here lol I genuinely don't know what Retsam is trying to say.

Either way, the general point seems to be that looms are too strong and should be nerfed, I understand that much and I disagree, looms are pretty difficult to get unless you're grinding pretty hard, it took me ages to get to 32 even jumping into a lot of strat battles that got me tons of XP, and that's only 3 looms. Looms are fairly difficult to obtain and are thus able to provide you with a relatively good bonus to the stats on the weapon/armour etc etc.

Nerfing looms to a point where they're barely effective/not even worth having isn't a good idea because it removes the point to a big part of C-RPG which is grinding for XP so that you can GET said looms. That being said as well, as I stated in my previous post I've played builds in which I use no looms for a long time and I don't struggle without them personally. 99% of C-RPG's community are skilled players and don't need to rely on looms to carry them in the first place.

I dont use any looms on my Wight alt and my 2h alt Judeau I only have my main weapon loom no armor etc.and I dont feel like I do any worse on them than I do on Asheram & Skillless who both have everything loomed but helms. The only thing that makes them seem worse to me is that I only build for lvl 30 on them and then retire @ 31 so they have less skill/att points to use.
