Ok guys it really has been fun but this is indeed just some trolling I felt compelled to do when I came across that article (it really is the kind of thing I would do on LSD).
Despite this I'd like to say thanks for both the good wishes and hilarious posts that have been made. For something that was mainly intended for a giggle with my small circle of buds I certainly didn't expect this much feedback (positive at that).
