That's probably one of the worst noises when I'm laying in bed trying to go to sleep and I hear two cats duke it out.
How to deal with cats.
A true cat story ( semi-boring, like any true story is ):
So i have been working with this guy for the past 3 years. He is like 50, and does not talk all that much, but we are only two here, so we do share stupid stories occasionally.
His ex-wife left her cat with him, when they split up, so he has to take care of it, even though he is not a big animal-lover. At some point, he noticed that the cat is acting hungry all of a sudden, even though the cat was getting the same amount of food, and the plate was empty every time he was back from work. It went on like this for a week - cat is getting double portions every day, without getting fatter or anything.
There was something that made my colleague suspicious though, and gave him an idea of what might be going on: the cat was staying inside most of the weekend, on the second floor, and didn't seem to be eager to go out. So on Monday, he went to work as usual, locking the cat-door on the "in" position: what comes in - can't come out. And just as he suspected, there was one more cat locked in his house, when he came back from work that day.
And here comes a part of the story, that will make every cat-loving person shiver in dread: My colleague unlocked the cat-door, cornered the marauding robber-cat inside the bathroom, and emptied a bucket of icy water on it
Never seen that cat again.
