Little archive with mods that will help you with immersion!

before installing a mod do check the requirements for it!

Quote
Requiem(Roleplaying mod, makes the game more difficult! And much more!) - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19281/

Credo(medieval armour overhaul, doesn't fit in the TES lore) - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49133/?

Morrowloot - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/44212/
Quote
Patoson:Morrowloot is immersive in my opinion, because it stops NPCs from wearing the best armours when you are high level and it also limits the amount of good armours you will find. You will only find dwemer armour in Dwemer ruins, only orcs will wear Orcish armour, and there will be only one set of Daedric armour in the game, which you will have to find.

Frostfall: hypothermia (adds factors such as cold, wetness, etc to the game which affect you characters wellbeing) - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11163/?

Realistic Needs & Diseases (your character gets hungry, thirsty. Rotten food will make you sick, etc.) - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26228/?

Some environment mods
Quote

Skyrim Flora Overhaul and Realistic Aspen Trees.

Don't forget to run Optimizer Textures (with this modified INI) after you've installed all texture mods!  :)

So, i'm a big nerd in skyrim when it comes to RP, so I made a little list of questions for you!

  • Do you hide the bodies of the people you've killed by dragging them out of sight?
  • Do you use the "Realistic needs & diseases" mod?
  • Do you play the afore mentioned mod on Hardcore mode?
  • Do you use the "Frostfall" mod?
  • Do you play the afore mentioned mod on Hardcore mode?
  • Do you toggle walk when in a Tavern?
  • Do you have Fast travel disabled? (it is part of the Hardcore mode of the afore mentioned mod.)
  • Do you avoid 3> vs 1 fights, because it would not feel realistic to win such a fight?
  • Do you alter your maximum carry-weight, so that it would not seem like your character can carry a ton?
  • Do you RP a certain faction, thus shun the opposing faction?
  • Do you have an alignment for your character? (Lawful good, good, chaotic good, neutral, etc)
  • Do you despise the opposite allignment? (Say you are chaotic evil, then you would hate lawful good.)
  • Do you react to situations with your alignment in mind?
  • Do you actively react with your surrounding environment? (Harvest ingredients, etc.)
  • Do you take note of the time of the day, and act accordingly?(not travelling at night, because of possible danger.)
  • Do you enter a town and rent a room in a tavern before logging out?
  • Do you get pissed once in a while? (A feature of Realistic needs & diseases)

These things at first might look like you would limit yourself as goes for gameplay, but its quite the opposite. this adds an amazing depth to the game, and makes you enjoy the little things so much more! (Main story line is shit anyways)

More questions you'd like to add? Just post them and i'll add them.  8-)

I don't only walk when entering a tavern, I try to just walk along the roads at all times :D
For all the non-believers, look no further than this thread for proof that while strat battles are won/lost in NA3/EU3, strat wars are won and lost on the forums.

Although playing a Khajit in Skyrim I enjoyed playing a mad, naked Nord Berserker in Morrowind who hopped around and beat people over the head with a greatsword (damn those witches).
And how!

Actually, last time I played Skyrim I was at the first Alduin fight and I said "nope" and ran down the mountain. When I got to the town the battle music was still playing and the NPCs just gave me that dead, fish-eye stare and no one said anything; it was pretty creepy.
And how!

I just finished my first (and last) playthrough yesterday.  I ran about 150 mods, most of them geared towards immersion like Frostfall and RND.  They couldn't save Skyrim though -- it was still a turd.

The story was unimaginative and bland and full of A or B decisions.  That is, when you were even permitted to decide for yourself.  Definitely not something you'd expect from a company like Bethesda and a AAA title like TESV.  It's even worse if you learned the TES timeline from the previous games because the dragon war this game is based on doesn't fit in the timeline at all; not in Skyrim anyway.  Very immersion breaking right there if you're a person that can't just choose to ignore things.  The DLC's were equally bad when it came to story.  Serana? Why is a devout follower of Molag Bal, Lord of Domination, King of Rape etc presented as a "wouldn't hurt a fly" type of character?  Miraak the first dragonborn? Wasn't Alessia the first dragonborn?  It feels like they just phoned it in on the DLCs to be honest.

The mechanics were also a low point in the series.  What happened to improving upon the mechanics that made TES great in the first place?  I hate using this term because it gets thrown around too much but there is just no other way to describe what happened here -- dumbed down.  Sure, some things were streamlined but most of them were just kicked to the curb so that the audience wouldn't have to engage their brains at all.  Games like that may have a high initial fun factor but they leave you unsatisfied at the end.  Lame.

Bugs were also a major detractor in this game and it's just staggering how so many bugs can still be present after two years. Even with the unofficial community patches which address literally hundreds of issues, the bugs and glitches are still common.  It's mind-boggling that gamers today just let this slide.  Why don't more review sites chew Bethesda out for leaving their game unfinished like this? (Don't answer that, I already know the sad truth.  I just needed to ask it.)

Sorry if I derailed the thread a little.  I practically played through Skyrim twice since my first character (unmodded) became un-savable for whatever fucking reason 90-95% of the way through the game.  So I just needed to vent a little; spending so much time with this game has left me full of bile.

(By the way, if you're the type of semi-OCD person that feels compelled to play through a game that you payed good money for and you haven't yet played Skyrim -- don't.  Seriously, don't.  Or wait for it to hit $5 so you won't feel the need to complete it should it turn out terrible.)

So to answer the OP's question: Not very.  Fuck this fucking game.
WSE2 gives us the key to a wonderful world of butthurt...
