Buyable Heirloompoint

Just having a dump, mobilephone in hand and suddenly an idea came across my mind:

What about buyable heirloom points?

As far as I can see poeple like to trade stuff, though nearly nobody wants to sell stuff just for gold.

Gold isnt useless, though i know there is enough ppl stacking amounts of 400k 600k or even more.

Now, make a heirloom buyable for lets say  800 k Gold.

A ridicolous price, but an option.

First, I think there isnt many poeple who could afford more than one of these points.
Dont see this breaking the balance.
Rather see a possibilty to decrease the amount off ppl willing to pay 800 k for an item.

(Ofc some superrich could abuse it, thats why trading/ordering such items shouldnt be possible)

Second it just would give Gold more of a meaning / use without killing the market.

Third, non tripple heirloomed items could gain more relevance.

Well just some thoughts, curios what ppl may think.
So discuss, but please keep it on a human level :-)

Agreed. Maybe 800k gold is a little too much for only one heirloom point. 400k or something like that as an upper boundary seems more reasonable.

Buyable heirloom points go against the spirit of the heirloom feature, though. You're not really even supposed to have those in the first place, they're only there because of the respec, which was caused by exceptional circumstances. Buying them with gold has been floated as an idea before, but I think it would be a bad move.

Spirit and full pockets will never be friends, this is true.

I ofc agree :-)

Nevertheless my mind searches for possibilities to spend me ingame money on.

Fancy stuff, not simple items :-)

Customizable items me wants *cough* :-)

This would lead to people doing even more gold farming. "Have to grind 10 gens, might as well do it in peasant gear so I get a few extra heirloom points".

Playing with weak equipment decrease your chances for good multiplier.

I would agree with that some time ago, but the thing now is that with the new marketplace feature, heirloomed items do not have a real price reference (other than time spent to gain money, which is dependant on your gear because of repairs), so speculators can raise prices a lot and wait for a long time so at last we would find people paying insame amounts for those items when desperate.

Having buyable heirloomed items would give prices "a roof" (provided that this roof must be hight enough so a heirloomed point is much more expensive than the gold you would gain in one full generation, so buying a loom point is at least triple or more the effort of just gaining it the normal way), so the market is more easily regulated and will not go mad.

How could you buy a weapon that was given by your father to you to one day fight in world of Crpg?

try to explain that to the average cRPG population

btw i don't like the idea of buyable heirloompoints to much for the reasons stated. (rp, it substitutes shop and interaction amont players, possible increased moneymaking in peasants outfit)

I don't support this, but I like the idea of being able to respecify already gained heirloom points by investing gold. Maybe for 100k gold you should be able to respecify 1 heirloom point.
