Price relationships of weapons

Somehow I have the feeling that the price relationships of weapons are a bit messed up... As I only use two handed weapons I will only use examples out of this category.
For example:

Heavy Great Sword             Danish Greatsword
Length: 120                                  Length: 124
Speed: 92                                     Speed: 91
Swing Damage: 40                       Swing Damage: 41
Price: 7411                                   Price: 15922

Although I understand upkeep is necessary to prevent the game from being flooded with tincans, I think there is a lack of proportion. The pretty marginal advantages of the Danish dont justify that it costs more than twice as much as the heavy great sword do they?
There are lots of similar cases.

Upkeep doesnt prevent the game from beeing flooded with tincans.
I mean, the rich players have multiple millions of gold, they could play full plate+plated charger all day if they wanted to.

Most weapons after like 5-7k seem to have a random upkeep cost. The weapons are balanced based on their stats rather than their price now once you get past the junk tier of equipment.

Not true of everthing, like higher tier cav can be expensive because they have such good survivability. Or for weapons like Arbalast or the top arrows

They should make the more expensive stuff cheaper but use stats to balance like with weapons
If you have ranged troubles use this:

Danish's market is crap because everyone has one. Only thing to fix that would be deleting those gazilions of em out there.

Still I wonder why everyone owns this thing, even I myself. :D It is by far too expensive with that 1114 upkeep. And I dont get what justifies this horrendous price.

The heavy great sword had its price lowered. Used to cost about the same as other great swords. Pretty sure that the same patch increased price of longsword, bastard/heavy bastard sword, and maybe others. I'm not sure about the others but heavy greatsword costs much less than it used to and price of the danish hasn't been changed. That's why they seem unfair when comparing stats.

irl something shorted on the shuttle and laika overheated and died within a few hours of liftoff and for a brief while one could look up to the stars and see a light shooting across the sky that was actually a warm dog corpse slingshoting about the earth at thousands of miles per hour which was arguably humanity's greatest achievement so far

There was a time when danish and german greatsword were efficient, so everyone had one but later they were nerfed (in the speed, i think) and nobody wanted them anymore. German is still pretty good tho, so its price didn't suffer too much.
As far as I remember, I had to give gold with my danish +3 to have another +2 weapon

To me, what makes the Danish and German expensive is the length, it's great for taking down cav if you use it right, and the length is scary to fight, even though I am polearm. A stab from those 2H can outreach a lot of things.

The prices of items are basically the same as they have always been.
They do follow a logical pattern (armor, damage, length etc) but when you look at how effective an item is overall the pricing of many items really don't make much sense.

In my opinion each class should pay about the same amount of upkeep.
Certain items are used by certain classes. Agility builds use cheaper items in general and strength builds more expensive ones.
I think that's really shitty since a light armoured archer with a 15/24 build can make just as much of an impact as a 24/15 full armor 2H or heavy cavalry.

Then again; the higher prices of heavier armor and horses is there to limit the number of tincans as well as heavy horsemen.
It's a bad decision in my opinion. Following the same logic the long bow should cost 31k (gothic plate with bevor) - 60k (plated charger) but it's only 11k.
And as you all know, it's not effective to be a tincan horse archer on a plated charger. Instead archers use light armour meaning they pay very little upkeep compared to heavy infantry and heavy horsemen.

Instead look at how effective the best of players from each class are and what items they use. Set prices based on that.

In other words, armor upkeep should be the same for light, medium and heavy.
So should upkeep for horses be.

Within each category (light, medium, heavy) you can have different upkeep.
It's not more realistic but it's more balanced and fair.
