Nudging people off of ledges should give kill credit

If you kick someone off a ledge or hit them and make them fall and die, you get kill credit.

If you nudge someone off a ledge and they die, it registers as a suicide.

Fix pls.

Then do it difficultly.

Hehe, j/k.  Thanks for working on this mod and acknowledging my suggestion.  If you guys find a way to implement it not only would it be great for the mod, but it would be great for my K:Dr as well. :)

I have thought about it before and - as a rule of thumb - if I have to think longer than 5 seconds about a problem, the solution will be an ugly and probably problem-inducing workaround. When cmp has some more time I'll ask him again how it is done with kicking people off ledges because that gives correct credit iirc. Maybe I can use something similar.

Not only kicks btw, normal attacks causing enemy to fall also register a "headshot" kill.

he mentioned that though macropus
For all the non-believers, look no further than this thread for proof that while strat battles are won/lost in NA3/EU3, strat wars are won and lost on the forums.

I think the kill credit involves dealing a non-zero amount of raw damage just before/during the fall.

You could probably get away with dealing 1 raw damage for shoves, since it won't hurt anyone except naked people.

As an alternative, it might be nice to get more assist points for nudging/kicking/bumping people if they take damage from a source that isn't the nudger/kicker/bumper within a certain time span.

You can still troll people without having to cause them to fall off Heskey. One nudge from you sends one outside the map boundaries even on flat ground. Makes me rage enough.

Nudges DO actually deal damage though, is the thing. It's just that it's so low, that only a truly naked person has sufficient nakedness, to not take damage.

Edit: We can probably do something about a score reward though, I'll look into.

That's odd, I thought shove nudges (block + nudge) never did any damage, while the others only damage if:

The nudge doesn't cause a knockdown
The target's armor doesn't just soak all of it (still inflicts "raw damage" though)
The target isn't blocking

That's what I meant about sufficient nakedness, sorry for the misunderstanding. Also, as far as blocking and knockdown goes, a minimum of 1 raw damage always seems to be inflicted.

It always deals raw damage and even if it gets past armor and causes real damage it won't get linked to a fall death for some reason. I spoke about this to cmp some time ago but I forgot why this is so.

The current implementation is so satisfying though; when you shove a tryhard to their death, you know they are raging about losing a kill and points. Sometimes your shove alone is what prevented them from getting valor.

There is power in the V key.
