Broken how?
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

Well since you posted on this forum (considering you are using the pc which uses the said graphic card) it means that it at least partially works.

Also in what manner is it broken? It doesnt display right? Or are you getting some kind of error when you want to run a certain application?

Whoa there dude, that is some serious shit going on. The stuff you experience reminds me when you get too greedy with overclocking, and then all kinds of strange stuff shows up. Could it be that your power supply unit is too strong for your setup?

Then there is the obvious, your card is messed up and needs to be replaced. If it is under warranty, waste no time and send it back for either replacal, or repairs.

Or it could be your computer screen, but since the problems started after you replaced the card, it is unlikely.

The last idea I have that there is some kind of problem with your motherboard.

You need to run a Driver Sweeper utility to completely remove any video drivers on your computer, and restart. Then install the new drivers, and restart again.

Double check that you properly cleaned fans with compressed air. Tidy up your case so there aren't any loose cables or shorts. Have proper airflow.

Download overclocking software (like msi Afterburner) and monitor your card's performance and voltage. Try reducing its voltage or memory clock from stock/turbo speeds.

Odds are, your videocard is on its way out, from your description. But it could just be power or temperature issues. Hell it could even be a loose cable.

check your card temperature and be sure it isn't overheating when playing and idle.

You're not even saying what card you're using. :D

Anyway, had that problem too 3 months ago when my new pc arrived. The graphic card first worked without a problem, then the same stuff like you described happened regularly, especially in dx9 games like warband. First I was about to blame win8 but topics all over the internet said that this kind of graphic card causes similar problems a lot. Installed win7 and they stayed so obviously a card problem. Put it in my old pc, same errors. So I sent it back to Alternate and recieved a new one some weeks later.
You need to try everything, check google for your graphic card name and add some description, you'll prolly find some solution (and in German as well).

Maybe you got Artefakte? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGLGvk4kJXw
(that's what I had, just heavier + pc going down sometimes or screen going white/blue. Now no problems anymore, sticked with win7 tho!)

Still playable though but it seems to be the same what I had and I guess it has to be the graphic card. When I had that problem, which is actually the same but it can be quite heavy that you don't see anything of the game anymore or like you have it, I couldn't see much on my screen anymore.

Google mal mit dem namen deiner grafikkarte und füg "artefakte" hinzu. Du dast das nämlich ähnlich wie der Typ oben im Video.
