If you actually plan on using a 2h in-game rather than having one for trading purposes (which is completely understandable), I suggest the Two Handed Sword over the Longsword. I find that those hand-and-a-half swords benefit from high agility builds, so I decided to pick up a MW 2HS instead. No regrets! The spammability isn't as promising, but I love the range and damage for fighting polearms. Hiltslashing is still easy with it if that's your flavor in melee. All that you're going to have to do to compensate over the Long is block more and be more conservative with your offense. I'm 18/18 by the way.

But, like I said, if you plan on using the MW Long for trading, go for it.

Ah, good advice.  I do plan on using the longsword on an alt, but I want to try it from the back of a pony!  I wish more swords were usable from horseback, but alas...
