Riding @ level 31. What do you think?

If riding only could be achieved at a certain higher level, there would be more prestige in having a horse, just like back in the day! Back then, it was a sign of wealth and/or status to own a horse, it wasnt for the commoner. I think it would be cool to see a knight on the battlefield and know that this guy is actually some badass and not some lvl 15 toon who just wanna try to play cav for the lols. But well i dunno. I also think it would be abit sad that i wouldnt be able to play cav when i wanted to but then on the other hand, i think the other makes up for it. Once i hit the req. for horse and be able to play it, it will feel awesome. What do you think?

yeah they can be avoided if they come 1 or two at a time but if they come at you 4+ then you are buttfucked and can only hope they will fuck up and rear eachother and dodge the best you can.

i like to play cav and i do play cav once in a while. but even as cav, id prefer not so many cav because well lets face it enemy cav is tideous to fight, we want to gank infantry

Everyone can ride a horse.
All those who enters in battle are fighters, and should be awarded a horse if they have the necessary skill and wealth, acquired by fighting in the game.

Nothing needs to be changed, the upkeep is killing the poor peasants enough so that they dont use cavalry if they cant sustain it.


The riding skill requirements for horse could be increased to a bigger plateau thought, like starting to 4-5 difficulty for the sumpter and ending at 7-8 for the top shit. But you can be sure this "elitism" would result in many people with low riding skill min-maxing build going on a rampage on the forums.
That would be less radical than your "riding at lvl 31" idea but still an impactful change to the game that would lead to debate.

Imho, if you fight 4 ranged then you are even more buttfucked + now it's easier than it ever was to kill cav with all them attack directions working like a charm and this ability of chambering a couch. Cav is just a riding pack of points. The ranged cav is annoying though (but it's because of ranged abilities, not horse's fault).

Biggest issue with cav is that they are ninjas and no matter how much you nerf damage, or turn angle, or whatever else, you can't buff awarness of melees. Though I believe, that in closed helmets those soldiers may not have had the best hearing abilities. I may be wrong though.

Thats called a compromise : between OP idea and how the game currently works... Because then you would be able to begin riding horses as soon as you have the required agility for 4-5 riding, which can be before lvl 31.

No, making Sumpter Horse 4-5 riding is ridiculous considering it's already way too shit to be even worth 2 riding.
