Is going thrower still viable after wpf change plus low dmg nerf??

Reason im asking is cause im sick of my build.... thought of going back to throwing, but havent played thrower since they fucked up my wpf cause throwing/melee dont hybrid with wpf...

Also the dmg nerf, how big of an impact have it caused?

An also, what sorta build would you recommend? Note: I really wanna do hybrid not pure thrower.
I've never played a server where people split up as much or as often as on EU1.  No wonder range is having a field day.

That low damage nerf was temporary and something different is being used now. The lowest damage attacks actually deal slightly more damage, making it easier to interrupt attacks even against plate. You need to deal at least 30 damage to have a chance at stagger, so as a hybrid, you shouldn't be expecting it.

With the buff to accuracy, low PT, high agi throwing is quite good nowadays due to the increased accuracy and rate of fire (outside of the snowflake weapons due to the removal of stunlock). 21-18 is still the tried and true build, but with the buff to javelins and throwing hammers, even builds down to 9-30 work well. At 21-18, you can use a throwing lance for melee. At builds below 21 strength, I recommend 3 stacks of ammo and a 1 slot spear/1h if using a 3 ammo throwing weapon or 2 stacks of the 4+ ammo weapon and the weapon of your choice. I think 9-30 is hilarious to play, but 21-18 or 15-24 are the more optimal builds I recommend.

With the dmg nerf 5 PS, will just make your huge weight an stack of throwing weapons works as a decoration tool, i cant see that killing anything, unless you leech the entire round an wait to come out when people are bleeding.

Anyways, didnt get half of what your where saying, something bout low dmg is only a temporary fix and low ps builds are viable but wont stagger.. :P thx for the info San.
Gonna try out some builds on my stf.

Sounds like going thrower hybrid is a terrible idea, an the class is worse then it used to be. I guess going archer would be a better choice, more Ammo more dmg and better acc an range, plus u could carry a decent 0 slot 1h.

Tried testing with Lennu, had to use my entire stack of 6 +3 heavy throwing axes on him with 5 pt. He still had like 6 % left afterwards lol

Then again 5 PT is not really much, maybe with 6 or 7 and some jarids or throwing spears would be worthwhile.

Nut gonna post hes build, but its pretty balanced an he use somewhat light armor setup, like the majority of the community.

Going hybrid aint worth it i guess, unless you wait out the round each game an go hunt for wounded people.

i was 24-15, dmg has been nerfed, but still effective. But when you have to throw 2 jarids for kills, now we need 3 :/

As a pure thrower I can say that I get laid WAY more than the average player. They nerfed damage but buffed accuracy. I personally see no difference, throwing is still the most fun you'll have in cRPG.

Is there a pure throwing clan?

Nvm I don't like clans.

Go thrower.

Hybrid throwers are pretty weak now; it takes more than a full stack of any +3 throwing weapon with 5PT to kill a melee player in loomed armor (unless you get a headshot). Dedicated throwers can still do decent damage (2 jarids will kill most players).

I had been 1h/throwing or 1h/xbow hybrid for the past couple years, but the new wpf changes coupled with throwing/xbow changes put the hybrid at too much of a disadvantage, so I don't have any ranged wpf anymore.

I still find hybrid throwing pretty useful, but don't expect to get kills with it.
Think of it more as a sidearm for horses and kiting 2-handers.

My main is a thrower with MW jarids and something like 8 or 9 PT.

Mostly beneficial in Seige. In battle you get flanked to often by people with strange skills called Agility and Athletics.

Now, for STRAT few people care to have throwing weapons and when they do they are probably Wardarts or less in terms of damage.

Now, couple you're throwing with 60wpf in 1 hand or whatever skill with little agility and you are now essentially a sniper but move like a tank.

Once you get into that duel prepare to be turned into Cannibal stew.

Pros of throwing:
Instant Proficiency in Teamwounding
It annoys people when you kill them
Many Highs and LOLs
Jarids attach to flesh, shields and armour to make your enemies appear larger
Watch your enemy accumulate multiple wounds without him dying

Cons:
You definitely get laid more (or at least raped....any other class is capable)

My ultimate advice is - Throwing weapons are a sidearm, not a main.
