CD Key (This Character Belongs to Someone Else)

Got the message "This character belongs to someone else" again. Logged in a different Steam account and THATS WHAT I GET

Can someone reset my CD key? Steam ID is Screaming Idiot.

Only you yourself can fix this problem.

Here's what you do, go on your steam account, check your cd-key, then (through start menu) open regedit and browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MountAndBladeWarbandKeys, then check the entry for serial_key - if it is not your cd-key, change it.

thank you very much for this thread, i wish i seen it sooner. i was away for a while because of this. it happened again tonight. this fix was sooo simple. bumping it to help other people

Sometimes it happens when I try to rejoin too fast after I quit...

For me it just seems random. Maybe its changing the key on its own? I had warband before i even knew what steam was. I have the info on gamersgate website. But somehow my steam key overidden the original copy? I know nothing of computers
