How to Crack Open a coconut....HELP

Well today i bought my first mature coconut I've tried everything to try to open it!


AND NO i'm not going outside to smash it on a rock to look stupid in front of my 100 neighbors

Screw Driver and Hammer if you want it done without TO much damage to coconut water.

you see 2 or 3 small dark spots usally in "the end" of the nut (if you can call it an end on an almost round object :p ) these dark spots are softer than the rest of the nut. use a screwdriver or something else to poke a hole. they perfect straw size

well first, u should let the water out. u can make a few holes (the coconut has some weakspots on the pointy side :3).

Once it's empty, either hit it with a hammer (like around the "equator") to crack it open,

Or put it in the oven for like 10 mins at 170°c. That usually cracks the bitch.

Or just take a lil saw :3.

Thanks guys i did the hole thing and drank the water inside but i have yet to open it because i can't find my hammer..

Honestly, a machete is the easiest way. I guess a small axe might work.

It's not really a good argument... Can you find something that is not easier to do with a machete ?

Get a heavy blade (somewhere between kitchenknife and langes messer) and hit the nut horizontaly somewhere on the top third. keep repeating and turning the nut. eventually it will crack open along the line you are constantly hitting.
and dont follow the video because you don't want to loose the juice. The juice is the best part.

aye +1, it takes abit more effort but i prefer to poke hole and add straw then eat the... what do you call it? the meat? afterwards
