sounds like something wrong with your phone.. tried another one to see if the problem persists?

As a testament to apple quality my home cracked iphone 3g from 2008 still lives on. It's been constantly abused, I never took care of it or had a cover for it. Dropped it 100 times.

- It's been laying under oily seawater in my friends boat for 2 days. Left to dry on his piano then it was fine again.

And it still works fine 6 years later, although all the keys have eventually fallen off except the home key. Battery still lasts 2-3 days. Have you ever had a phone that lasts six years?

In my experience apple builds quality stuff that lasts, and it's worth the price. My apple laptop runs fine after 5 years, I can still edit HD films on it fine, even my 10y old or so g4 imac has a renewed life as a kind of torrent machine/router being on 24/7 silently, never heating up. These are both heavily abused machines. On my laptop I've been playing games under windows for years, never been turned off, rendering video for days on end. The only thing I had to replace was the fans and the battery eventually, something I just did myself.

My main computer is a hackintosh/pc tower thing and OSX is rock stable on it. Windows have crashed perhaps 10 times in a year.

And no viruses through 10 years of mac abusing. And I never take precautions with it.

To contrast my moms dell laptop has been to service around 4 times, and she only writes in word and surfs the web..

Apple builds shit with quality components, end of story, and consequently the product life is way longer on average than any comparable (random vendor) pc.

I would go so far as to say it has saved me tons of money going the mac route.

it's worth the price.

You can say many things about Apple products, but certainly not that.

Personally I dont like Appleproducts, but I dont really mind em either. I dont really get why PCpeople have such hate over it. So they got a large marketshare aswell. Its not like Apple is forcing anybody at gunpoint. Honestly most PCfanboys who furiously shittalk Apple have never even fucking touched a single of its products in their life and they hate its guts, simply because they feel that they have to. Its not like I love sticking up to Apple, I just find it wierd people talk crap about something they even barely seen before. Its like arguing about a point of a book, where one discussionparty has only seen the books cover in a TVshow.

I have to agree with Thomek here. Apple does make quite durable products. Arguably thou, Apple users never really rape their hardware as hard as PCusers, so its all rather questionable.

I prefer Android but I did have am iPhone 3g way back, was really satisfied with it but I dropped it a couple times and my camera got fcked. After that I sticked to Android, I currently have 2 year old Samsung Galaxy Nexus and couldn't be happier with it, not planning to change the phone in the near future and when I do change it it will be another Nexus for sure. Also the build quality is just great my phone took so much abuse over the years, it's cracked in the upper right corner and has dings and scratches all over but still works like a charm. The size is just perfect for me, not as small as iPhone, in my opinion iPhone only looks good in tiny female hands.
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

One cannot deny the quality of their products or the easy to use OS. One simply can't. My entire problem with Apple is about the devilishly inflated prices. I don't know how prices compare in other countries, but here Apple products cost at least three times the price of their counterparts. Most of the time, their hardware isn't even comparable to their counterparts. For instance, if an above-the-average Android phone with quite impressive hardware costs, say, 10 bucks (using totally made up representative numbers only, of course you don't get shit for 10 bucks, I don't need to be told); the Iphone 5 costs 30 to 35 with hardware barely matching such an Android phone.

When this is the case, people tend to hate the Apple nerds who can die for an Apple product and are totally oblivious to the huge pricing gap. And as this sentence suggests, the hate ends up being directed towards Apple fanboys.

IMO, Apple embodies everything bad about computing industry with their "all flash, no substance" products. They are making fuckton of cash out of stupidity of their customers, who buy their hardware for price that is far higher than the product is actually worth, just because it looks pretty.

Apple products are for regular people who don't like computers. The money is for ease of use. That's fine, as long as the rest of us get our highly customizable shit.

I think Kalam means ease of not use. I've used Apple desktops and laptops quite a lot actually, and even though both Apple and Microsoft software is hardly stellar in that area, I've got to say I hate the dumbed down interfaces that don't let me do anything, and generally don't explain how things work so that I can do stuff without just looking it up every time. Windows and OSX aren't made to be user-friendly, they are made to be idiot-proof. And you know, it makes a lot of sense actually.

But even beyond that, I've have yet to come across even one Apple mouse or keyboard that I didn't hate to use.

Another problem is that when you begin buying Apple products you end up being hostage because they don't allow any kind of competition. The great thing about PCs is that everything is modular. I don't think any two pieces of my hardware come from the same manufacturer and yet it all works.

Their keyboards are awesome. Ofc some still prefer the nuclear proof PS2 keyboards...

I've got to say I hate the dumbed down interfaces that don't let me do anything,

what you talking about, osx has terminal where you can do all kinds of linux/unix shit.. I just used ffmpeg installed through macports to convert a video by command line.

ofc its going to be a little period before you understand osx is way way superior.. :D It's just a linux that works.. And most of it are open source as well. It's not hard to compile linux software for it either..  It's like a pc, without all the utter crap released for the platform.

Then for the occasion you want to play some game or run some rare pc-only software, you just boot up ur pc partition.
