If one metals hardness is higher then the others, it will "cut" the metal.  Most tools have very high hardness levels like tin snips, and yet you can cut nails in half with them, which are made of steel.

You guys are katana noobs.  I have six katanas and each one is inscribed with the blood of the ancient samarai voodoo warriors who created them in the year 300 BC.  This is documented, I have the certificate.  I know from personal knowledge that just one of these swords is harder than a meteorite, so you can just image all six of them.  Oh my gosh.

The game doesn't properly reflect this, and that is an understatement.  I will volunteer myself as katana team balance consultant to get things is the proper order.  I am qualified since I have the certificates and everything.  Six katanas don't lie, people.
