People here in Russia often suggest to open a financial assistance fund for officials who did not participate in organizing Sochi Olympics.

I'm surprised that there weren't any tanks roaming at the ceremony, considering that they marched and showed how good it was during the USSR...

I always enjoy watching my country in the winter olympics, I hope they will do well this year too 

Also, alot of these photos supposedly from Sochi are fake (like the half toilet n shit), I think there is to much focus on the state of the facilities and not what this is all actually about, the games

Looking forward to Winter Olympics. I prefer them to the normal Olympics because:

a) Professionals are allowed (Ice Hockey, Snowboarding benefits a lot from this)

b) Figure skating (female).

Hmm what decade do you live in? Is there anything else than boxing and football that have some limitations for professionals?
